Thing from Below and
Jinyu Waterspeaker well keep always midrange shaman
Because the blue face hugger wasn't enough here take these to be completelly broken fellow shamans
this card is proving itself to be OP imo. You activate it by just playing shaman. It's not even like Mysterious Challenger (poor analogy, I know) where you have to put a bunch of secrets in your deck. You just activate this by playing solid midrange cards, and suddenly on turn 7-8 wow, you played two 1 mana 5/5s with taunt! This is an absurd tempo swing, and on top of that it can save you from impending lethal because it has taunt... at least things like sea giant/mountain giant don't have taunt on them.
This card is able to do huge tempo swings thanks to its low cost in the late game. I once killed an important minion with Fire Elemental and played this, for 6 mana in total while being overloaded.
Everyone seems to be focusing on how difficult it will be to play this on turn 4, but are completely ignoring the fact that drawing this card late and playing it for super cheap or even for free could be a huge deal too. I can't even see myself being super upset if I end up playing this on turn 5 for 5 mana. I've had worse turns.
Yeah, I frequently just played it late for 0 mana, not even realizing I had summoned that many totems. But it's pretty easy to do.
I come from the future learned sage! You were right all along, please teach me your ways!
Very nice for midrange shaman! The effect is not that good but it does not put you too behind on tempo if you don't exploit it.
Really liking this card! It having taunt allows you to catch up if your early game was slow and you had to use totems.
Also the often mentioned synergy with Tuskarr Totemic...this seems really strong :)
Cant wait to play a Shaman deck that is not only pure face
TBH at 4 mana it's a +1 hp Evil Heckler so this card isn't TOO insane as people initially thought.. it's still an awesome card in midrange shaman which doesn't run Sir Finley Mrrgglton (which is currently run in almost every shaman deck(well currently only aggro shaman is a thing.. and mech maybe)).
Goes REALLY good with Master of Evolution and with Tuskarr Totemic(and those 2 cards also work great together)
just need tot wait and see which new totems and totems synergy they make!
My guess is that new totems won't be that forthcoming. There's plenty of existing cards that are on the verge of being competitive.
A 1-drop totem could potentially break the game, that's how much Blizzard have pumped into the Shaman early game in the last couple of weeks,
Dunno about you but I'm pumped about midrange shaman right now!
I can't agree with you, +1 hp diffrence is HUGE. 5hp is a thing, think about that, evil heckler or sen'jin shieldmasta? Sen'jin is better in most situation, and I think, many people would use even a 5 mana 5/5 taunt with no other effects. So yes, I think this card is pretty insane.
Don't think this card as a "+1 HP Evil Heckler", but as a "+2 attack Sen'jin Shieldmasta". It's really strong, but it won't happen often to summon this in turn 4 without having to Hero Power (tempo loss). So, in the most cases, you regain the tempo lost.
Just summoning two totems by turn 4 makes this card a better yeti.
op
Why do you want to make it so hard?
Even without a coin: T1 Tunnel Trogg, T2 Totem Golem, T3 Hero Power, T4 Thing from Below. Replace T3 hero power with Tuskarr Totemic or another Totem Golem if you are on the coin. Not wasting any tempo, and still you get your T4 5/5 Taunt.
Edit: typo.
To play a buffed Klaxxi Amber-Weaver on turn 4, you have to play Beckoner of Evil twice. That's very unlikely, and has probably put you behind on the board.
