No because if y'shaarj pulls a minion,if it has an end of turn effect (like ysera or ragnaros) it wont work.
theoretically there would be 20 cards left.
Oh ok that is what this card will be used for.
this is slowly convincing me that I need to craft this card.
I do think this card allows you to CHOOSE the card from your deck
It is random, "So it [Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound] doesn’t say random. Do you get to choose?
It is random, you do not get to choose."
Okay. I don't think this is a good card but if you got it off from golden monkey, then it is super awesome.
Y'Shaarj Eater Of DeathLords
What's with the hate on this card? It is a 2 for 1 at minimum and a powerful threat that the opponent must answer, else they just lose the game. At the very least, think of this card as a "Put random minion from deck onto battlefield, opponent either discards a removal spell, sacrifice minions, or lose the game", and they still have to deal with the threat Y'shaarj put onto the battlefield. The fact that it generates both card and tempo advantage is just amazing.
I belive that people compare it to Varian. You can have 10/10 guy + random guy from your deck at the end of the turn. Or you can put 7/7 guy + 0-3 random guys from your deck at the end of the turn. Both cards have the same problem - they does not activate battlecry. For this cost, at least one of them should do it.
Another problem is that Varian could pull 0-3 minions AND their end of turn effect triggers. While those pulled by Y'Shaarj will not activate end of turn effects.
What an unimaginative effect, poor art, and poor use. It's almost like they slapped 'he's the strongest Old God' on his lore just so there could be SOMETHING even remotely impressive about this guy.
Here's hoping Yoggy's more like C'Thun and N'Zoth.
Just noticed it doesn't say "random minion". Disregard this post if it was talked about already because I didn't read all 14 pages of comments, but could it be possible that Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound allows you to look through your deck and actually choose the minion you put into play?
Didn't notice they were worded the same. Makes sense, then. Would have been cool if it did allow you to choose, though, because as it stands it seems to be the weakest Old God revealed so far.
i highly doubt they would implement something like that.
varian wrynn -> yshaarj
usually when someone puts an arrow between 2 cards, theyre saying said card into another said card.
As for your other comment, literally most of the warrior minion cards have an ongoing effect that applies when they're on the battlefield, and decks like DMG Control Warrior are still all over the place...
So, to summarize: Brings you closer to Fatigue. Has NO self-protection. Has no immidiate board impact on turn 10. Loses value on almost ALL minions it brings out. (Battlecry effects AND end-of-turn effects will NOT trigger, because the minion is not played from your hand and is brought in after end-of-turn trigger unless they code this to work with End-of-turn specifically). Your Ysera, or your Ragnaros the Firelord will simply be bodies at that point.
And, to make things even worse, it sets up the board for a clear by your opponent (Twisting Nether, DOOM!, Frost Nova + Doomsayer, Equality + Consecration.
Minions that will win you the game unless answered are almost always good. The exception is when they cost you 10 mana and reduce the size of your deck!
So, trash unless WoG brings out some super synergy for this card. I know calling it trash is a bit much.... it just upsets me that THIS is Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound. This guy led an entire expansion in WoW. Its the most powerful Old God, and while I know that lore =/= Hearthstone gameplay, it just pains me to see it reduced to what seems to be the worst of the bunch. I just hope Yogg-Saron, my favorite one, will get a better treatment. Let Madness consume us!
