The casino Yogg deck would play 29 of these if it could.
I love this card, though it's a little situational...'IF' you can play this card on turn 5 while retaining some board presence or control it'll give you a huuuge boost, especially in tempo decks
Cabalist's Tome: Because nothing says "fun, interactive experience" like a mage randoming into 4 Ice Blocks.
No, I'm not salty because I lost a game, what could have possibly made you think that?
A paladin being salty about non-interactive gameplay.
"I'll spend 8 Mana, to summon RAG and hit a recruit with it!"
"I'll turn it into a 3/3 and instantly kill it, or I'll play 4 mana and wipe your whole board!"
How on earth is this good for tempo mage? You're sacrificing immediate tempo in hopes the RNG gods cuts you a break. If not, you're pretty much screwed. I can see this in a slow/long term control deck where there's less risk.

I try enough of this card to know now, you trade tempo for resources, a huge tempo loss for a lot of resources, for me the best combination is run a lot of cheap spells and minions with 26 slots of deck, you can fight for the board with that and 4 slots is 2 this card and 2 Conjurer, you never run out of cards and the low cost of the others spells helps a lot in tempo.
Works for me, first time I get rank 2.
Guide please.
This seems bad to me. Mage spells are very good but it's still inconsistent and has absolutely no impact on the board for 5 mana. Maybe comparable to Thoughtsteal, I guess. But would you really play this over Ethereal Conjurer? You get the best of the three spells and a 4-mana body.
I think it depends on the deck. A 6-3 and 1 spell (that you do get some choice in) or 3 spells. If this was another class it might not be that useful, but Mage has a lot of awesome spells.
In some cases the body and spell will be preferable and there will be decks that work there. But I think you'll have cases where the pure number of spells will be very helpful. Those just may not be the same decks.
Well, you cast this for the same cost and you get all 3 spells, which are generally great
Actually, I'm liking it. Using it as a one-of in addition to Conjurers, and more often than not all of the spells are fine. Aggressive tempo is too weak now without its 2-drop spells, and this fits the slower role.
Cabalist tome ---> Cabalist tome ( infinite spells) for yogg saron
this card would be good. too bad mage spells are the worst psells of all the classes. holy shit this would be so good for warrior
This may work with other classes but mage all ready have some so you don't need additional unless in arena.
