I don't see why people think this is playable. It's just so bad... For 6 mana you a card need to have an immediate effect - a battlecry, deathrattle, some kind of "at the end of your turn" effect or something like that - not just stats. And this card needs TIME to ONLY have stats.
I compare this to the Boogeymonster: a high mana cost minion that does nothing when it comes out and just gain stats over time. It's just trash.
Even for arena I don't think this is good. It's a 2/8 for a whole turn, and that's really bad. Even when it grows it's only a 4/8, which is still bad stats for 6 mana. And if you think this will survive for more than one or two turns you're wrong because the opponent doesn't even need hard removal to kill this because of the low attack value it has when it comes into play.
I guess what I tried to say iwas that a 6-mana card has to do something before it dies, and deathrattle does something when it dies. You can't just kill a deathrattle minion, you have to deal with it's deathrattle. But you can kill Nightmare Dragon (and its not even difficult to do that) and it's gone forever. But I mean you're right, deathrattle is not an immediate effect.
It's kinda funny that when you say an obviously bad card is bad and explain why it's bad your comment is still downvoted. It's the first time I try to use this to talk about the cards and not just see them, so I thought only those "Huh dis cart is trash pls bliz" kind of comment were downvoted, but I guess not. I mean, what has to be the avarage user's rank for people not to realize how bad is this card? Like rank 18 or so? I guess If some streamers start to do their reviews and say this card is bad the people here are going to be convinced? Or maybe 2 months after the expansion when this cards see less play than Drakonid Crusher did in constructed? I don't know...
If you hadn't given your money to them without knowing exactly what you would get in return, this wouldn't be an issue now. Learn kids: unless you have a really good reason to buy something months before it's launch, don't do it. You can always pre order closer to launch if you really want whatever this give you (card back and a discount in this case).
Great card... Im thinking of putting it with paladin deck and buff it up with Blessing of Might or Blessing of Kings...
Hmmmm I'm not too sure about this card maybe Rouges can make a dragon deck with Undercity husske, burgle, and Nerfairian with this dragon. Maybe they can also play their new legend and give this minion stealth. Tharrisan takes his spot though with 6 Mana. I can't wait to see some Mage cards and hunter
It's certainly an interesting card and it's not terrible. It just might not be good enough. I'd have been happy with a dragon with great stats and no effect.
i wonder after how many turns it crahes the game
well it has dragon synergy... Aside from that I feel like unless you go through the trouble of buffing it then it may be a worse version of Validated Doomsayer. It takes 2 turns for it to turn into an 8/8 where it'll probably end up dying and it costs 6 mana... or a 1 turn 7/7 for 5 mana.
It may have some viability in control decks like freeze mage, and if you build a deck around it then nightmare dragon can probably become a literal nightmare. However why would you build a deck around a single card whose entire purpose can be destroyed by a shadow word pain... or a shadow word death... or several other removal cards... or just minions because the first turn it's played will be turn 5 at the earliest normally (Technically you could play it turn 1 with double innervate coin... and your enemy couldn't really do anything about it... however how likely is that hand ever going to happen?), and several minions and cards that are available then can easily deal with a tauntless deathrattless deathlord... Also silence hits it rather hard basically turning it into a slightly bigger turtle with wings.
You probably would have a problem when your win condition can be killed by a single Fireball...
Fireball deals 6
Another minion that must be removed of snowballs quickly. Seems like Blizz is adding more and more cards that need removal quickly, and priest is going to be even harder to beat in the late game.
A bit slow, but it might see play. Good removal bait, since people get punished by not reacting fast to it.
The best part of this dragon is that it work nicely with any class with buffs. Rampage,Charge, Spawn of N'Zoth, Velen's Chosen, Cruel Taskmaster, whatever.
I guess that every class will get a dragon deck (it's viability is another story)
Helllooooooooooo Inner Fire
Nightmare Dragon + Inner Fire 7 mana not bad.. but not so many useble cards and its need combo almoust always
Seems to me like something you need to play with an initial buff already in effect, or in combo with a cheap card.
Maybe there's something to be had here with Cold Blood, or cheap paladin buffs? That attack doubling is really potent but you can't play this card without something else or it'll just die, get stolen or something else horrible will happen to it.
On the other hand though in a slow game, it does have a lot of health for its cost, maybe it'll live some times.
I'm not optimistic.
Inner fire = 16/8 next turn Kreygasm
