This card will be great for sure, but I don't think it will totally destroy combo as you say.
Again, this is just a much better dirty rat. You either draw it or not. These days there are combo decks that manage to finish it before 10 mana, you draw 10 cards until then, there is a pretty mediocre chance to draw it considering you literally have no card draw.
Also, there were a single type of matches that were 90-95% won by a specific archetype, and that was control vs combo. Aggro vs control was 50-50(maybe control has a slightly better chance depending of how many anti-aggro cards he uses and what he draws). And this never felt healthy, this type of things push to the insta-concede.
And raza priest is clearly not the best control deck in the game. I played it, I played against it, any greedy control deck like Nzoth Rogue or dead man's hand warrior just destroy it. There are always counters no matter what you go.
"there is a pretty mediocre chance to draw it considering you literally have no card draw" We all know that "Raza on 5 Anduin on 8" is not mediocre chance and happens actually suprisingly a lot. "Second Rat" increase priest chance to win singnificantly, so high that it will actually be meaningful.
I disagree (with control vs. combo 90%) because I'm playing mostly control and I just play 2 rats. And that makes me usually win against combo. I mean it's not my fault highlander priest runs one Rat (for obvious reasons). Now they have 2xRat PLUS. And as a person who plays mostly control decks I'm making myself and playing 2 rats I'm pretty sure having 2 rats against combo decks is just pretty easy win. Having kinda 2 rats in highlander deck with Reno Jackson... this makes this deck incredibly strong. Now it will be 90%, but for Priest :-)
If N'Zoth Rogue will be the meta or dead man's hand warrior, I will come back here and apologise to everyone I disagreed with :-)
It's the same discussion we had when jade idol was introduced. There is always counter.... back than it was going face with aggro. Well that didn't fix the druid problem back than when I couldn't play control decks and I actually left hearthstone for the 1st time. This also doesn't solve it. This card will too powerful. It's effect is not worth 2 mana. It should be at least 5. Increase stats if you want.
This even steal a turn from your opponent because if you want to go off with something, you can't, becasuse next turn you will get those stupid priest cards in your hand. So it's 2 mana steal your opponent turn and steal your opponents cards. Fun and interactive.
Btw. if you have any cool N'Zoth Rogue list you could link up I would appreciate :-)
I don't have a full deck, it was N'Zoth, the Corruptor - > Shadowstep, next round N'Zoth again -> Togwaggle's Scheme
I also played control decks with 2 dirty rat, I still had to draw them. Idk, anything that is not mill rogue doesn't feel consistent enough against combo. Now this card will actually be consistent enough but again, here comes the rngesus giving you the card or not because you have no card draw. Something based on so much luck can't delete a whole archetype. At least that's my opinion.
I don't know, I played a few games against priest and they ratted my important combo piece (like Aviana or 9 mana make your spells cost 1) and it gave them so much turns they could actually draw Anduin and Raza up this point and kill me. And it was only 1 Rat in the deck! :-D sure, it's Druid (so all the minions are combo pieces) and I mostly win, but doubling the chance to do destroy combo pieces makes me think Priest will not lose to combo decks right now and as a result there is no reason to not play priest :-)
Yeah I must try to make one of it, i just played Reno version for fun. Could actually be strong with double shadowstep. But playing taunt alone with deathrattles seems not very effective these days :-)
Btw. also priest could run deathlord, which I run in deathrattle decks in order to kill combos. It helped me few times. So we had answers and now we had a card which reads:
2 mana minion. Battlecry: if your opponent is playing combo deck, win the game.
And also: why does it cost 2 mana???? Is it balanced? Make it 5, give it decent stats and I'm fine with it. Could kill few important spells. Or at least 4.
In my opinion (and stats are supporting it) Priest became tier S deck and their is no chance to play anything fun against them. I lost with combo decks more than 60% of games because you know which card. Priest is actually stronger than I anticipated. In high legend it's definitly the best deck and there is NOTHING you can do to counter it (which wasn't the case with combo decks). So nice job blizzard.
A King Togwaggle for 2 mana?!
It’s nerf, or nothing!
If you could somehow add Azalina Soulthief, you could replace your enemy's hand permanently.
I will find a way to do this combo and nobody is ever going to stop me. I will find it.
This thing totally goes to my steal priest deck tho. It's a perfect counter to literally any combo deck, and, as a matter of a fact, this counter mecha'thun lock if they have any combo piece in their hand, ESPECIALLY if it's Cataclysm.
I love this card beyond comprehension, and from my preorder I genuinely hope this will be the one I will highroll into the golden legendary.
So we can theoretically Mecha'thun combo the opponent the turn before they could do it?
Most Mechathun combos don't leave 2 extra mana. You can definitely play their Cataclysmthough.
OOO May God/ 10/5
So when Druid has a Deck full of Dragons, play this, draw 5 Cards and summon dousandbazillion of dragons
The real utility of this is to give a chance to control priest to win vs combo decks by wasting a combo piece of the enemy.
But you can also empty DH's hand if they play skull on curve.
this is for sure the most interesting card for me this expansion.
It is pretty versatile, i cant be completely nuts OR just a dead card in your hand.
There are dousands of different situations when this can be good or bad, imagine your going to fatigue match and you swap the hand, just play the last cards of your opponent and give him nothing back
I'm just waiting to get like 6 of these off of galakrond in 1 game.
Thief Priest, but it actually steals cards. Amazing
Strongest card ever made.
in Wild vs quest mage :) Holy Shit
You can rob them of important resources (burn, value, removal, whatever is relevant in the matchup), play any 0 cost cards they're holding, see their hand, play out their combo pieces, and sometimes even steal win conditions like Galakrond for yourself.
But they can do the same to you. I thought it was one of the best cards ever before I realized that they mess with your hand and deck too. That being said I'm not sure where this card goes. Much smarter people than me will have to experiment with it.
You are not playing that randomly. You are playing it in the correct round against the correct deck.
You are not playing this against control in the middle of the game. The same way you don't play dirty rat at the start of the game.
