Imagine not thinking this card is beyond broken. Say goodbye to every good card you want to play when you need it. Priest just gets the most busted cards every expansion. Priest is just an auto win against every deck now. Now they add this card? Against a control deck, you just play a win condition and out tempo them. Against aggro it doesn’t matter because priest has an answer to everything aggro decks does and heals the damage away in one turn. Finally against a combo deck, they just auto concede once they see they’re against a priest player. Great job Blizzard. Great job Team 5.
Imagine playing more than one per game. Have one in your deck and get another from the Galak HP. The rage quits will be epic.
Meta defining, combo breaking. Good lord.
This card's destructive power goes beyond breaking combos. Play this whenever you're somewhat sure your opponent has their Galakrond in hand, and GG.
Bro read the last part of the card if you use brann its swaps twice so you pay 5 mana for a 1/3 and 2/4 , thats it.
Mindrender Illucia + King Togwaggle = pog
Well Mechathun Warlock and OTK Paladin were good while they lasted. Farewell combo decks. At least vs. Priest anyways.
Which is sad, because combo decks were keeping Priest decks in check.
Exactly.
Don't really get everyone going on about combo disruption so much... this card wins games in tempo priest. Especially when your hand is empty and you top deck it. If tempo Priest is a thing, and I don’t see why it won’t be with 1 mana 1/4’s and 2 mana Give a minion 2/2 and restore it to full health... this card is going to be insane.
Because if you know your playing vs. a combo deck, you hold it to just when you think they are gonna go in on the combo and play away one of their cards. Instant concede from the combo player.
Most Priests are pretty much an auto win for me when I play Mechathun Warlock. Now this card shuts that deck down, as Mechlock has no other win condition. At least with Uther OTK you can win some games with Libram beat downs.
So basically Blizzard has given a Priest a super easy way to deal with the one deck style that has been owning them with a single card guaranteed to hit a combo piece mid to late game. At least with with the taunt minions that pulled characters you had a shot of them not hitting a key card.
This feels normal to you to have an auto-win against someone? Cause I don't.
Hearthstone is one big game of rock, paper, scissors. So yes, when one style of deck sees too much play, it’s perfectly acceptable to have a deck that counters it. Just the same as combo decks gets dominated by Mill Rogue players making it impossible to get the combo off.
Just in my small morning session today I played ten games in Wild Casual. Six of them were against Priests playing control. Who the hell wants to play against a boring ass Res Priest unless they have a deck that is suited to beating it?
You must be new to the game.
Rock, paper, scissor yes. But not 100% winrate.
A control vs aggro doesn't have 100% winrate, it goes close to 50-60%.
Mill rogue is the counter to combo? How many times did you see mill rogue? I played against only 2 mill rogue in 1 year.
Wild is full of combo decks, some combo decks manage to draw their combo even before 10 mana. But sure, a deck that doesn't go crazy hyper mega aggro win in round 4 or nothing finally has a chance against combo and for some reason is a problem.
Do you actually play wild at all? If not, you should excuse yourself from this topic with me. Also, in that small ten game stretch yesterday I played two Mill Rogues, and I average about 2 to 3 Mill players a day in Wild casual. This morning I've already played against one. The fact you say you've only played against one in a year means you're either a mostly Standard player, strictly Ladder, or just straight up lying.
oParis said- "Wild is full of combo decks, some combo decks manage to draw their combo even before 10 mana. But sure, a deck that doesn't go crazy hyper mega aggro win in round 4 or nothing finally has a chance against combo and for some reason is a problem."
That's the point, it is a problem. Priests can already handle Midrange, Aggro, and Control decently in Wild. Combo decks are where they are weak if they don't tech against them. Now they've given them the ultimate tech card that doesn't suck against the other deck types, say like Dirty Rat or Death Lord that might pull a threat they can't deal with early. 100% this card will be in EVERY Priest deck Standard and Wild. I can name plenty of cards from many classes that are combo killers, but none will be as effective as Mindrender will be when drawn.
I know there are folks that hate OTK combos, but they are part of the game. Just like brainless aggro, boring control, and crappy mill players. Each serves a purpose to keep another from becoming too dominant.
Aggro vs control priest is more like a 50-50. Priest is the class without draw, even if you add 20 anti-aggro cards you risk drawing Alextrasza after Murozond and simply lose. A deck without draw is very based on RNG, you either easily beat the aggro player or the aggro player kills you until round 5 without you having any way to fight back.
If you think priest beats any control deck you didn't play priest at all. It's enough to be against a Nzoth Rogue and you most probably lose in the very late. Nowadays even DK guldan is able to kill priest because of the new mechanic that duplicate the deathknight or the nzoth, you will just not have enough clearboards to survive.
And against combo it was just 100% lost(until now when you might have a chance if you draw Illucia without card draw against the overpowered combo decks of today that manage to finish a combo before 10 mana).
So out of all this "priest beats everything" actually is just priest being OK-ish against everything(except combo), because you can lose veery easily. I find it funny how all this people complain about how "priest is unbeatable" while this class's best deck is barely in tier 3 and aggro still dominates the ranked boards since the existence of this game. Just because you don't like to play against this class or you find it frustrating it doesn't mean it's strong.
Also alot of people cry about how strong res priest is while I have close to 100% winrate against that deck. It's enough to clear their board 2-4 times and they remain without ammunition.
But of course if you see a 2/6 and just rage and auto-concede instead of letting the game continue to see that you actually beat it easy, then why complain?
"WILD CASUAL" I can't believe you talk about meta and put a casual wild as an example, play ladder for a month and tell me what you encounter, spoiler alert Quest mage and Hyper-aggro. Non-mill rogues will play that against an aggro deck or Quest mage because they will lose 100% of times so they go to Casual as Res priest does because their decks are not competitive enough to handle the meta.
oParis is indeed perfectly right about his statement, a priest can handle most things but "handle" doesn't mean he wins, means he has a 50%-60% chance to win, in the other hand Quest Mage is a 100% lose and that's the purpose of Mindrender Illucia.
Is English not your first language? Until they drop the new expansion, I love playing against Priests. After the expansion is when I'll have to figure out a new approach or new deck. Seriously read and comprehend before commenting.

Okay White Knight,.......At what point in any of my statements did I say meta? Everything I've talked about so far has been about my ability to farm Priest with combo decks in casual. Because, as you say, that's where they go when they can't win on the Ladder. I don't play combo on ladder because it's too slow for "THE META" that favors hyper aggro and Mages with secrets that break up a combo in many ways.
And all things being equal, despite whatever tier Priest is on the ladder, it is still by the far the class I personally face the most when I'm playing in casual. What can I say, I divide my time equally between the two. I think grinding away your whole time for a rank is boring. So if you scroll alllll the way back up to my original statement, it still stands.......Goodbye combo decks, Mindrender Illucia has rendered you useless against Priest. Whether in casual or on the ladder.
And so what if Quest Mage is an auto loss for Priest. Every deck style can be hard countered. That's why I go to the salt thread and make my whines about Mill players.
Anyway you cut it. Blizzard is looking for ways to kill combo OTK. And this OP card reinforces that. Soon the only way a player will be able to have fun with an OTK deck is vs. the AI.
Illucia will be broken but there is a difference between a hard counter and auto-win.
Hard counter means you can try to play the game actually because you can win maybe a 1/3 of matches depending on your approach/threat assessment/resource management/etc. auto-win means if you queue up against it press concede is faster than wasting 20 min to discover you lost from the beginning...
I'm not against hard counters if something hard counter other deck so beat it, but Quest Mage is the actual problem in wild go watch Zeddy and he has videos telling the data from High tier wild/low tier wild / mid-tier wild and everything is either Quest Mage beater or Quest mage so I'm happy for Illucia coming around cuz if that means both mages get to play they crazy stuff a little more and I can beat that shit sometimes I'll very happy about it.
The priest still doesn't have a good draw engine compared to others so a combo deck can still win against. ( and that will be a hard counter btw )
I see alot of priests too even if the class is in tier 3. What to say, people love playing priest so alot of players go for it even if their deck is not great. Who can blame them? Priest and mage are some of the few classes that can add cool stuff for late without getting hard punished(I still remember how much I loved playing Confessor Paletress and Rhonin), while other classes like DH are forced to go aggro or nothing.
And about Blizzard trying to kill OTK : it's one of the only card games where you can just combine some cards and insta-win. In my opinion combo is a healthy thing, but it shouldn't be able to deal more than 20-25 damage, combo decks should have to fight a bit to win not just insta-win against anyone that doesn't obsess to hit you in the face as much as possible.
