Shaman's Mana Wyrm, shaman need that 1 drop, very well card.
Overload is mainly a shaman mechanic. I like that they're trying to emphasize that mechanic, because as we all know, shamans aren't doing too great in the current meta right now. I believe that this minion is a step in the right direction.
One really promising aspect of this card is that it fixes the problem of when you draw a Totem Golem on turn 3 or have to drop a Lightning Bolt on turn 2 or other such curve differentials. Instead of just playing the Totem Golem for no tempo gain followed by the overload butchering your tempo on turn 4, you at least gain some tempo by having a growing 2/3 and a 3/4 as your turn 3 play.
Totem golem's the 3/4 and Tunnel Trogg's the 2/3 you get on turn 3 in that case.
wait is the damage permanent or does it leave when overload leaves?
Damage is permanent, or else it'd say "Has +1 attack for each overloaded mana crystal" - see things like Goblin Sapper.
oh ok good so the card is actually really good and not complete trash.
Mana Wyrm is a better minion, but overloaded spells have more impact on the board than non-overloaded spells. I agree it could find decent use, but It's hard to compete with Mana Wyrm when it works with any spell, like Mirror Image and Arcane Missle combos
The great thing about Tunnel Trogg is he not only works with spells but other minions too. Troggs rule!
This is exactly what shaman needed. Very comparable to mana wyrm; gets a bigger buff, but on less buffs. Probably going to 2x this in almost every shaman deck.
finally 1 cost minion
Another card that will grow with time. I like it because overloaded cards gains more tempo due to have this minion on the board. + it is a solid 1-drop, shamans needed it.
Seems really good with Totem Golem, Feral Spirit, Forked Lightning, Lightning Bolt and Crackle even Ancestral Knowledge on turn 2 seems legit.
We might see Dust Devils on ladder :-)
This card isn't supposed to justify the downsides of overload, the card that has overload is supposed to be good enough to warrant the extra cost. Instead of using this and running bad overload cards to buff it, just run the same cards like totem golem and feral spirit and have it get benefit from those.
This card could potentially be insane if you play this on turn one then play Totem Golem on turn two as an aggressive play.
The closest comparison this can be made to is Lightwarden with its potential to get insane amounts of attack with a starting 1/2 body.
Overall it could go either way, as unlike Lightwarden you can build its attack while maintaining tempo but the fact that it requires Totem Golem to be a viable turn 1 play could exclude it from constructed.
In arena, this card may see play merely due to some commonly seen drops from shaman such as the previously mentioned Totem Golem and Fireguard Destroyer
This card can also be used with other overload removals. It doesn't necessarily has to be used with Totem Golem, despite that being the best of value.
Personally I don't see anyone using this card at all (or shaman) since Overload decks are difficult to play, but I welcome it because I'm one of the few people who uses an overload deck and a one drop that doesn't overload you and benefits from it is gonna be pretty useful to me.
Also it seems like Murlocs, Ogres and Troggs are a Shaman thing now. Kinda make sense since I use Troggs a lot in Shaman,
Shaman has a turn 4 play now
This seems like a really good card :o interesting!
Not bad, but whether this can replace zombie chow as the staple 1 drop remains to be seen.
I was just thinking is it confirmed that the +1 attack is gained on the turn the Overload card is played?. It would sucks big time, if the +1 is gained the turn the crystals are locked!
The buff is permanent, if it was for one turn the card text would have read "Whenever you Overload, gain +1 attack per locked mana crystal this turn".
