This card would have been Druid's answer to patron warrior if it were still really popular. Inner rage and ww now deal 3 damage to their target and moonkin+ swipe clears entire patron board.
I would seem so. You can almost tell when this set was designed and what concerns the development team had when making the cards. I guess no one told them that patron would get nerf'd out of the meta. Excavated Evil has the same type of heal, it feels like a card developed to address patron.
Though the druid spells benefit the most from this. The druid spells are possibly the best in the game even compared to mage due to a few of them having a choice of. Swipe- Deal 6 damage and 3 to all other enemy characters. Wrath- Deal 5 to a minion or deal 3 and draw a card. Starfall- Deal 7 damage to a minion or 4 damage to all enemy minions. Moonfire- Deal 3 damage.
Sure the mage gets a 6 damage flamestrike or an 8 damage fireball but really that's not much of an added threat. I think the only class this would legitimately be devastating to use against is rogue as they're spells can be pretty dangerous since they can cycle through their cards really fast. So the opponent getting spell damage isn't too relevant in most cases.
There are so many burn decks out there. A frost Mage with frostbolt and 2 ice lances can do 21 damage with 4 mana cause of this... Double kill command is 14 instead of 10. Lightning crackle crackle is 15 - 21 damage for 5 mana. This card has the very serious problem of causing you to put yourself in lethal range.
Yes its a card with risks and it's a card with timing. Just because you have a chance of killing yourself with a card that can easily be a HUGE benefit doesn't mean it's bad.
Also, 1 frostbolt and 2 ice lances at spell damage 2 is 17 damage with the spell damage. But yes the card is dangerous but you just gotta play it right.
I like this more than other people, I think. I play spell damage druids because they're fun. Having something that has +2 Spell Damage allows me to play more spells, which allows me to burst.
It also turns Starfall into flamestrike, Swipe into something better than consecrate, and it turns Moonfire into Wrath and living roots into eviscerate.
Please, don't turn my comment into a soapbox for whining about hunter.
Also, I'm a long time, practiced player, playing since beta. I know what to play around and how to play cards like this to maximize my own advantage and minimize my opponent's.
Only time will tell if this card is good - but I can tell you already that it probably isn't. But, winning isn't the only reason I play Hearthstone.
I like this. Can be disadvantageous as well as the oponent might let it live if it is beneficial for him.
Yeah, but this is a druid we're talking about. You either need to save it to use (expensively) with swipe, or your options are limited to fairly low damage single target spells. It's a strong card, for something like a mage. For druid, the 4/4 stat line isn't going to justify it being included. MAYBE if we see beast druid emerge it will be used, but otherwise it's pretty meh for it's cost
There are some dangerous counters to this one in the meta.. Backstab, Consecration, Living Roots, and the mighty Explosive Trap.. use with caution..
Yeah, It sucks but it does. I've only seen it once since hunters don't play spell damage. You could try it and see if you don't believe us.
Yes, it is. For sure.
100% does. I killed someone with Malygos + Explosive Trap before!
I think that this card is cool but in some match-ups it will be unplayable, whenever you will face a deck with a lot of spell damage it will be almost a dead card.
But I like it, it's different.
Moonfire synergy! 6 damage 0 mana Pew Pew
6 damage 0 mana 3 cards...yeah.
Well Houndmaster, Water Elemental, Voidcaller are better in right decks :-)
Well a lot of player add Houndmaster to decks without options to have a beast on board. But they often choose it over shredder anyway. But yes sometimes you have to play it without getting the battlecry.
Water Elemental, well I think that it is a way better than shredder, it is stronger against weapons, silence, AoEs, and for trading is basically the same as shredder but more consistent. But mages doesn't play shredders besides mech-mage decks... but they have a lot of potential to do so.
