Combo Coin Rogue
As a rogue player, this is easily my favorite card in the set. With Unearthed Raptor, this card ALONE is to me what makes Anub'arak make SO much more sense w/ his high cost. With access to coins, we are able to get him out just abit faster now. OR store it after turn 9 to put him out for cheaper as well. Coin in rogue has always been strong, and with this card, unearthed, and my other fav Rogue card who doesn't see much play sadly (Cutpurse), it only becomes that much stronger.
A 5/4 for 4 is still good. Either you kill it and give coin, or keep in on field and let it swing for GOOD damage. Win/win in my book :)
EDIT: Also turn 3 coining into Tomb Pillager isn't a bad play in my opinion. If anything, you force opponent to burn resources into him and then you recycle said coin back into your hand :) Playing either him or Shredder to me is not a bad play. I almost look at him like a slightly stronger (stat wise anyway) class Shredder.
Agree, and dont forget the Shado-Pan Rider it maybe finally we see it in action.
Eh. Rogue is still missing decent minions from the 6-8 slots (other than boom), and Anub'arak is only good in a very long game. The 6 slot is particularly important for this card -- if your 5/4 for 4 dies on that turn, you want to coin-combo six drop. If this was a 4/3 for 3, it would be better, a. because it wouldn't lose as badly to Piloted Shredder, and b. because it sets you up for Shado-Pan Rider. And I imagine you're running two Azure Drakes in your Rogue deck, and two Antique Healbots, because you're running a non-aggro deck with no other heal available to it, so what exactly is your goal here? Maybe if you coin out Tomb Pillager, you can play a good 5 drop on turn 4, but is that really that great? Considering Rogue was already a little coin-reliant? Eh.
I think we're forgetting what class this card is for. Maybe that's because rogue hasn't had a tier 1 deck in quite some time. Rogue's extremely effective at gaining tempo come turn 3, even against up to 3 opposing minions, and often with a 3/3 on board or a 3/1 weapon - sometimes even both. This card doesn't die to Shredder, Shredder dies to Rogue.
Kolento stated that its 'the best card in the set' and I'm beginning to agree.
Guys!
Just play this guy alongside with Shredders, who cares it dies to it? You are also playing your Shredders as well, so your opponent will have to deal with them as well.
5/4 for 4 mana with a good deathrattle=GOOD. Yes, its not super insane but TOTALLY PLAYABLE.
Yeah. I mean, it's pretty annoying that it dies to shredders, but your opponent won't drop a shredder on tempo every game, and even if he does you might have a good answer for him and get value out of this card anyway. And then maybe you kill a Loatheb, or Thaurissan or something. It seems pretty good. Just not great.
I hate Piloted Shredder damn card makes most 4 drops useless I hope it will get nerfed to make place for cards like this one.
This is an easy 2 for one. Turn 5, Tomb Pillager into Turn 6 Gadgetzan > Coin > Conceal. Basically becomes a huge Loot Hoarder. (Hmm... Loot Hoarder. Tomb Pillager. Even the names are pretty similar)
If only this was a 4/3 for 3 mana it would be great for enabling Shado-Pan Rider. Unfortunately there are no good 6 mana Combo cards so there's not a lot of synergy here. On the other hand there are not very many options for good 5-drops in the game so being able to skip that and play two 6-drops on curve could be very useful.
Turn 4 Tomb Pillager into Turn 5 Coin+ Kidnapper new Rogue meta!

Coin Combo!!
Im intersted to see that Blizz is rolling out this The Coin theme for Rogues...
Between this, Cutpurse, and maybe even (but not really) Trade Prince Gallywix I feel like they're trying to make a statement into incorporating a Coin-heavy styled Rogue deck...
Well, Rogues get most out of Coin cards, druids second. I think Blizzard also kinda wants Miracle Rogue be a thing again, but now having Rogues to work for it and building up coins to achieve it. (Covering or least trying to cover nerfs of cards like Gadgetzan Auctioneer and Leeroy Jenkins)
im thinking in turn 6 sylvanas or thaurisan more han shadopan
coins r pretty good for rogues but damn shredder reks this fellow.. damnit shredder i hate u and love u at the same time
this card is pretty good in rogues tho, i expect to see some play
Would I rather have this guy over Shredder? Maybe. Of course, it'll be months before I grind enough gold for it, so I'll have plenty of time to figure it out.
combo potential with Shado-Pan Rider. idea could be to push control rogue except they forgot to give control rogue any control tools... welp there goes that theory
I'm planning on having one of each. With enough overlapping of cards in a slow(-ish?) rogue deck, Reno Jackson might well work pretty reliably and be the savior of the archetype.
