Dr. 3
This is INSANE. It takes an OP card to single-handedly spawn new deck archetypes, and Raptor fits the bill. Let's have a closer look.
Worst case scenario, it's a 3/4 for 3. Not something you would choose to run in constructed but not something you'd be sad about. If you copy a Nerubian Egg, which is perfectly possible and feasible to pull off on turn 3, this puts Piloted Shredder to shame. Let me reiterate: IT PUTS FREAKING PILOTED SHREDDER TO SHAME. It costs 1 less, always gives a 4/4 (whereas Shredder only gives a 4/4 if you're very lucky), doesn't randomly kill you via Doomsayer, Lorewalker Cho, or Wrathguard, and on top of everything else it has a better stat distribution to play on turn 3.
Much like the Grim Patron people looked at this card, couldn't find a deck it fit into, and made their own. Though I think it took a little less time for this to spawn a deck than the patron.
If it puts Shredder to shame, that seems consistent with Blizzard making the class cards more powerful than neutrals.
First rogue playable card since Oil and they nerf it. Damn Blizzard!
Tbh, the nerf was necessary for it to be playable. Either way. Forcing your opponent to draw 16 cards is still good enough.
Legends say hes still trying to break ice block
Possible to get an insane number of the same Deathrattle on it. Entomb gets around Deathrattle plus Entombing a raptor that was unearthed... * Laughs Maniacally *
Actually the Raptor rogue is DEFINITELY hitting the ladder. Saw one of the first versions of the deck get about 10 out of 12 wins. (About 7 or 8 of those games he managed to get a raptor up to 4 deathrattles I believe) Also, priest has MORE than enough removal to deal with anything bigger. Basically if you run out of removal you screwed up somewhere. Plus entomb MAY see some play in deathrattle priest decks. If everyone though deathrattle was a pain before we're just inching ever so closer to it. Quite frankly I think the inclusion of this in particular is going to have even the aggro decks running a silence or two.
Actually a few people are running shadowstep in some pretty nice raptor deck. Also, the fact that Raptor exists is going to draw silences into a deck. Yea raptors are going to draw a lot of fire for silence which is a pretty good thing since it draws off of your other good cards. As for the entomb part, I was more making a joke because I'd much rather shadow madness a raptor and kill it off that way. Also, I'm not worried about entomb blocking a card because like just about every priest card there is some sort of finesse to using them.
True but silence is usually worth it anyway. (Unless you choose to silence absolute garbage which just means you're losing anyway) Plus, just because something CAN be silenced doesn't mean its automatically a bad idea. Also, shadowstep works wonders in a raptor mill deck. It's a fun deck to play and usually confuses your opponent with about an 80% winrate.
Having one or two piloted shreders in arena is already strong but together with this card... its just insane.
Ha ha, Shaman! Now you're not the only one with a Thaddius Factory.
After the bug, this card literally broke the game..
Blizzard took way serious
Found another bug:
Every time I play this on curve with Nerubian Egg, my opponent purposefully lets their turn run out and starts spamming emotes or just sits there doing nothing and eventually gives up.
Apparently the value is so much that it actually breaks the players themselves .
EDIT : Woah had it happen to me the other way. My opponent went first and played T2 egg T3 raptor and then it looked like they just sat there refusing to end their turn but it never roped out. I'm sure to them it looked like it went to my turn and I just stopped playing. Oh well since I don't mind being an unintentional cheater I'm gonna keep playing this on ladder and enjoy the occasional free win.
Dat rng Blessing of Might tho. He doesn't even know the whole extent to by which he is rekt yet.
