I'm sure if mages could put 4 fireballs into their deck they'd do it.  And only for 1 extra mana on a 3 damage spell?  Great Scott!

I think people might be getting ahead of themselves with this card. Speaking from strictly a Freeze Mage stand point. Sure, the fact that it gives you a 3 mana Fireball is nice. But, the front end of it is over priced and the fact that you have to draw both pieces for it to get its full value isn't a small downside. No way should you be cutting Fireball for this. Fireball is a guaranteed 6 damage, where as this is a guaranteed 3 and a chance at 6 later, if you manage to draw the token. Maybe cutting Frostbolt is ok. But, do you then cut the 2x Ice Lance as well? If you don't have Frostbolt as an activator then why bother running Ice Lance at all? Then theres the fact that it adds another card or two to your deck. The majority of the time Freeze Mage needs to draw into Alexstrasza or, on a smaller scale Archmage Antonidas , in order to win. Putting more cards in your deck that prolong those two important draws doesn't seem like a great idea.

So deal 3 damage (TO MINION OR FACE!) shuffle in another damage card in your deck. What's the issue? I love this set for mages...bring it cancer pally.

Best spell of this expansion. Freeze mage always had the problem of having to use burn as removal. This gives the deck a good removal that later becomes a 3 mana Fireball. Also, like Bash, this can go face for 3! SMOrc

but 3 mana 3 dmg is expensive... cant even clear a 3 drop most of the time and you need to draw that card too. should 2 mana and only removal into 3 mana fireball

This looks pretty darned good, and as mage is my favourite class I will definitely be giving this card a try.  I'm not sure what to replace for it yet, maybe flamecannon?

This isn't a 2 in one spell card because you have to draw the other half, that's important. What this is is running 2 cards, a bad early removal and a strictly better fireball, only you always draw the early removal first. The ability to draw your early removal always before your finisher improves the consistency of Freeze Mage against aggro decks.

So it is like worst frostbolt but gives you a better fireball in the future... I think that this card is amazing. Because often in freeze mage or tempo mage you have floating mana or would like to have one more spell for removal in early game and wish to have more fireballs in the late games, and here it is a better fireball for the late game with early game removal :-)

Absolutely an awesome card. Also 6 mana 9 damage in one card. Yes you have to draw to the better part but when you do it is strictly better than Kill Command. Actually it is a great comparation Kill Command is better than the first half and worse than the second half of this spell. It places this spell in a pretty good place.

Nice one. Ofc I will never draw the second one, but still will have hope for it.

The card is really good but... is like having 4 Fireballs. Dont know if thats ok.

I could actually see this being used in freeze mage over a fireball. One of the things freeze mage is weak to is the fact that they have a set amount of burn cards and when they're forced to use them to clear threatening minions, they lose part of their win condition. This card makes it so they can afford to use it on a minion, then later they can have it back for burn

why not both? 

2 forgotten torch (6) + 2 fireball (12) + 2 roaring torch (12) = 30 damage to face SMOrc

Love It! Frostbolt for 1 more mana now is a Fireball for 1 less later.

Or a Bash without the armor and a 3 mana fireball for later

...So basically it's a frost bolt with no freeze for an additional 1 mana... however you get a 1 mana cheaper fireball. Sounds interesting.
