I thought this was a battlecry when I first saw it and thought it was good, that's what it should've been.
Would have been a lot better as a battle cry. Still could be useful with all the tempo and flamewaker decks. It can also give fuel for the archmage.

This card is crazy. Should be a lot of fun too. Would definately see play in my duplicate mage deck. I have no idea who the heck Ronin is though lol
He's the ex-leader of the Kirin-Tor, the mages of Dalaran, he was Jaina's Boss for a time :P (no spoilers ;) )
he wasn't in WC3 was he? Was he in that undead mission where you had to raid Dalaran?
You are getting a 7/7 with a death rattle that is essentially a 3 mana Avenging Wrath. Not to mention the combo capabilities. I see 12+ mana worth of value in an 8 mana card. Not as bad as people seem to think.
it's not Avenging Wrath for 3 mana, it's 3 cheap spells which help combo with the mage tempo tools like Flamewaker, Sorcerer's Apprentice and Archmage Antonidas. Also works turn 9 Gazlowe which draws three Mechs (only with Rhonin dying of course).
Avenging Wrath is 6 mana deal 8 randomly. 3 arcane missiles is 3 mana deal 9 damage randomly. They are comparable. At minimum ( without combos) it's 6 mana worth of damage.
Malygos Mage? This + Malygos = 45 dmg arcane missiles.
8 x 3 = 45 ? Oo
11*3 = 33

As I recall, spell dmg increases number of missles, not dmg per 1 missle. So it's really 8 dmg per spell -> 24 per 3 spells
yeah...and even if Spelldamg would increase the Damg of each missile...45 would still be wrong xD

Not sure where you're getting those numbers...
3 Spells with Malygos = 3*5=15
3 Arcane missiles = 3*3=9
15+9=24 damage randomly
Requires Thaurissan setup (slow) or Sorcerer's Apprentice to stick (ha! not likely) AND Rhonin not getting silenced.
These mathematicians are gonna save the world ^^
Tempo Mage decks with Flamewakers and Archmage Antonidas are already strong, so giving them a legendary that gives even more fuel for their amazing comboes comes with the risk of making the Mage class too strong. This is probably why Rhonin was intenionally made to be a clunky legendary in order to prevent one particular combo from dominating the game.
