So. Here I am, playing Tempo mage.Yes, I know. This, however, is when Tempo mage was good. REAL good. I am laddering quite well, but my nerves begin to rise as I queue against a Control Warrior. Alas, I thought, not all is lost. I have a strong start, and my adversary had a weak one. We are playing and I discover that I am winning. Dramatically. My opponent is using a N'Zoth, the Corruptor style control warrior, and I have developed a very good board with Archmage Antonidas supplying Fireballs enough to blast him down from his momentous 50HP. I am confident as he has used both of his Brawls. It is said that Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer. I daringly played a Spellslinger, golden was he, and was greeted with a shiny Moonfire. I did not fear, I am a tempo mage, cancer of the meta. I can't lose. It's a free fireball with Antonidas, right? I'm safe for an easy win, right? The warrior plays his card, created by Spellslinger. It is A Light in the Darkness. At first I think, nice golden animation there, my fireballs are going to keep killing you. You don't even have any 1-Mana Executes left. As my turn starts, the audacious warrior says: 'Well Played'. Of course it is well played, I play tempo mage, the most skillful SMOrc deck ever! I am in for an easy win, right? There's no card he can discover that saves him, right? His turn starts, he says: 'Heh, Greetings'. Slightly nervous, I squelch him. He plays his card, discovered by A Light in the Darkness created by Spellslinger. It is N'Zoth, the Corruptor. I cry in salty despair, but I know all is lost. The game ends a few turns later. I solemnly enter my collection, disenchanting my 2 golden Spellslingers and my 2 common ones. 110 dust has never felt better, yet still so depressing. I decide to stop playing for the day, maybe get a drink of water and watch some TV. The salt lingers for weeks. Such are the trials of Spellslinger. Beware ye who places Spellslinger in their deck. Beware.

Out of all of the spells in the game, I've gotten Shield Slam the most, and never when I'm playing Warrior! >.<
Stop giving me Astral Communion, please :(

You're not really giving your opponent advantage though. You're giving +1 card to each side, and giving yourself a 3/4 for 3. So really, the advantage is yours.
This card is really win or lose, might go either way.
In this week's brawl (the preview of the set), playing this card as mage has been the beginning source of my losses.
I may be pessimistic but i read : "Give your opponent flamestrike, draw moonfire"

That moment when your opponent gets Flamestrike and you get Whirling Blades
If the card is anything like Blingtron 3000, then you can only get collectible spells. Not spare parts.
Probably the card I am most hyped about. But I think I would like it better if it gave both players a specific spell, let's say an Unstable Portal. It would preserve the strong effect the card has, but ensuring that it won't be any hair-tearing like getting a Deadly Poison when your opponent gets a Flamestrike.
The RNG effect would still be there though, you might get a 2 mana wisp and your opponent could get tirion, but I'd like it better knowing what spell I get :)
Pair this with counter spell maybe?
Problem is more than likely you'll end up with spells like Shield Slam. Spells that will have zero benefit to you.
Not if you have Ice Barrier. ;)
