Forged in the Barrens Cards List & Guide
Summon three 1/1 Webspinners.
"THEY'RE EVERYWHERE GET THEM OFF!!!" - Everyone
imo it shouldn't be to much for blizzard to make it cost 4. turn 9 knife juggler, unleash, ball of spiders would make it so control hunter would be viable. maybe he might even have 2 snake traps in his deck.
if blizzard really wanted huntard to remove his cancerous face cards in favor of board spells, they should at least incentivize him to do it.
If you compare this to Nourish, you Draw 3 cards and get three 1/1 beasts, so not that bad. But then again Nourish doesn't see much play either
Nourish gives you 3 cards INSTANTLY (not by 3 deathrattles) which allow you to play them right away & from your deck (not random) + it have another effect & is versatile. You can add to this that three 1/1 beasts aren't that great late game.
It can't be worst than Starving Buzzard. Seems pricey but it might be a good card for beast decks, maybe even in control-ish decks, should they be a thing for hunter. I will try it.
so whats the point of making adding a card that no-one will lay hands on
They made it costs 6 so we cant synergies with starving buzzard, like we would use it anyway if it was 5 mana, even 4, too slow
Not every new card needs to be better than the old cards. They don't even need to be good, really. The idea that all cards can be good is a fallacy. There needs to be "bad" cards in order for "good" cards to exist. Also consider the fact that cards like Ball of Spiders can be FUN, especially when you look at arena drafts where you're trying to make due with less than satisfactory cards. Part of the appeal of hearthstone and ANY card game is the potential for fun, or weird, or dumb decks. Will anyone roll double spider ball on constructed? Probably not, but you never know. Is it a card that can potentially yield 3 King Crushs? It sure is.
tl:dr some cards are more form than function
I think we will see the Emperor in Hunter decks going forward since it will open up many possibilitie together with BoS. Buzzard, Rhino, Hyena, and more.
That could be a legit stratergy- play shit cards like this and hope your oponent is laughing too hard to attack you. 9 out of 10 win rate.
These one remembers me a deck called "snake bite" with heavy beast sinergy and cards like "Knife Juggler", "Cult Master" and "Scavenging Hyena"
One thing that must be noted is that Webspinner is a Wing Two Naxxramas reward, that you need to pay 1,400 gold pieces to unlock (and it takes a lot of gaming, I did that... ¬¬) if you're not willing to spend money. And to craft Ball of Spiders we just need 100 dust, less than 300 gold pieces, since the minimum that we get from a card pack is 40 dust. So, this is not a horrible card once this is considered...
That's not how you value cards...
Yes, yes, I know... But if the main parameter to judge this card is "oooooh, to play three Webspinner's I pay three mana and this crappy Ball of Spiders costs six mana to play three spiders", this is as good as any argument against this card. Also, it's the most expensive spell Hunters will have, as far as we know until now, maybe having Tavern Brawls in mind. And playing this card and Feign Dead will lead us to very interesting situations.
Or I'm just being over-optmistic... It's a big flaw of mine, I admit, hahahha.
Comparing it to Snake Trap + Nourish3 x 1/1 + 3 Cards:
Pro + 1 Card instead of 2.Con - Only rng beasts instead of card draw.Pro + Don't have to be attacked for the minions.Con - Have to kill minions to get cards.
Needs to be 5 mana.
Note on other Synergy, since you want the spiders dead: Scavenging Hyena
Snake trap is hunter. Nourish is druid. How do you suggest comboing the 2?
Playing it in control deathrattle hunter with shredders on the board, then Feign Death so you have board and full hand of beasts.
6 mana: summon a 3/3 and draw 3 cards. Sure it's 3 1/1s and 3 random beast cards but I don't think this card would be terrible if control hunter was a thing.
Control hunter is a thing, and a good thing
or kill urself
This card seems much better if you have a Tundra Rhino at play. Then you get 3 beasts on your hand immediately, which arguably is already worth the 6 mana (Sprint costs 7 for 4 card draw), and you have 3 1/1 with charge on the table so you don't lose too much tempo. And this "combo" curves well, since Rhino is a 5-drop. This could be playable in a beast-themed deck.
Does it suck, yes... will it be pretty unplayable, most likely... do i absolutely love it, YES has to be one of my favorite cards revealed I love the concept and artwork even if it does cost 6 mana
