Forged in the Barrens Cards List & Guide
Summon three 1/1 Webspinners.
"THEY'RE EVERYWHERE GET THEM OFF!!!" - Everyone
its like deal 3 damage and draw 3 random beasts for 6 mana. I dont think its that bad since hunter lacks card draws. its kinda bad for keeping up with the tempo though.
Just way too p[ricy and RNG worthy.
"Oh my gosh, why the fudge does this cost 6 mana? Three webspinners adds to 3 mana value!" Let me explain this another way.
Webspinner has the stats of a 0-mana Wisp. It has "Deathrattle: Draw a random beast" and costs 1 mana. Therefore "Deathrattle: Draw a random beast" is worth 1 mana.
This card summons three 1/1s. That is worth 2 mana (Better than Living Roots but worse than Muster for Battle). It has three copies of "Deathrattle: Draw a random beast." That is worth 1 + 1 + 1 = 3 mana. In total, this effect is worth 5 mana. So yeah, this IS overcosted, but not actually by all that much.
Just compare that card with the webspinner. It costs only 1 mana. I'd rather have 3 webspinner in my hand and cast them all instead. Maybe I'd consider playing it if it costed 4 mana. For now, I'd rather use the camel.
Webspinner doesn't actually "draw". It just adds a random beast to your hand.
It's one of the worst cards released in The Grand Failure. What do you think?
Dat Ball of Spiders
I think this card should cost 5.
I think you are right by thinking blizzard wants to give a refuel engine so that we see more control hunters. Besides, i'm really not as sure as you that this card will be that competitive because you are forgetting in your reasoning a very important point. Neptulon makes you draw instantly 4 cards while Ball of Spiders gives you 3 cards thought a Deathrattle which won't necessary trigger the turn after you played it, if ever (and indeed almost never on the same turn).
For this simple reason the effect is already less powerful than you stated. Nourish makes you draw instantly besides being versatile. Even if we totaly forget the second effet of Nourish (making already the card less powerful), if i need to draw cards & get to choose between: 5 mana draw 3 cards from my deck instantly or 6 mana summon 3x 1/1 body & then draw 3 random cards with deathrattles, i would certainly prefer the first choice as it is a real draw engine & it is actually allows me to draw & play those cards on the same turn. 3 x 1/1 bodies aren't that useful late game unless you have crazy combos with them.
So you take 6 mana to summon 3x 1/1 & hopefully get (good) cards. Your board is nearly the same as it was & your hand is as empty as it was. And the worst part is that you can't even combo this with Starving Buzzard or King of Beasts as it would cost 11 mana to play both.
So in my point of view, this card should cost at least 1 or even 2 less mana to get a chance to be really competitive. I mean really, would you state that if this card cost 5 mana it would be overpowered ? I'm not even sure i would add it in a control hunt as 5 mana. If you lower the cost to 4 mana, then i think it would be clearly a strong draw engine & played in almost all control hunters. Still, i'm not sure it would be really overpowered, it would be a really strong card for sure but overpowered ? I guess the only thing that could make it overpowered is the existence of Feign Death.
Ball of Spiders Dreadscale value Kappa
Turn 5 Starving Buzzard, Turn 6 Ball of Spiders. VALUE!
I rather just play Belcher and Highmane.
acuatly going to put this card in my tgt hunter deck... think it'll see alot of play
this is a great card for hunters. this card shines most when the opponent plays Nafarian, and gets it..
If anything it gives you chance at winning a joust as face-hunter.
Joust effect only draws minions
've read this twice "as face-hugger". Plused just for this.
Doesn't have to be the same turn, people don't like to kill webspinners.
1 webspinner costs 1 mana2 webspinner cost 2 mana3 webspinner cost ... wait ... 6!!! mana - wtf?
Yes, i know. Was not meant to be too serious, but it express my opinion that it is too expansive :)
