Obligatory.
What Instrument is Kangor using? It looks like a guitar, but it doesn't have strings.
Looks like an upside 2hand hammer
This and libram of wisdom it's a deadly combination.. Great in pure paladin. This card is defo a bit slow but its worth to see how good it is.. Even if it saves 10/15 damage can be good plus can be abused with weapons.
I would be interested to know if Seal of Blood would pop a bubble and then replace it after it resolves since it’s a Holy Spell… hmmm
I believe so since this text says "Playing a Holy spell refreshes it", from my interpretation, it should give you Divine Shield and then proc the Seal of Blood ability's text.
I think everyone is missing the huge advantage here. You can now play self damaging cards and not do any damage to yourself. You can play Knight of the Dead, pop the bubble and bring it back with Holy Maki Roll, then play another card like Sanguine Soldier, and repeat. This card single handedly makes self damage Paladin competitive as there is no longer a downside to playing them.
Kind of a weird card. Seems like it's meant for a control Paladin, but has the best benefits with weapons, of which Paladin isn't using right now.
This is a really cool card. It also looks worse than Bulwark of Azzinoth in every way I can think of despite being printed years later. Even if you draw space groove early it takes several turns for it to be as good as one bulwark, and it's not nearly as good against burst combos because it can only block one per turn. Attackers also have the luxury hitting each shield with their weakest minion, which isn't true of every bulwark charge. Bulwark wasn't even that crazy a card. I feel like this card is really bad except against a slow, gradual burn deck and specific burst combos that deal only a couple chunks of very large damage, don't have any small damage sources, and do barely enough damage to kill.
I'm really hoping self damage or dshield synergy pops off because its really cool but by itself it looks very weak.
I think the one big upside that no one is talking about (especially compared to Bulwark) is that you can attack a minion without taking damage. And then cast a holy spell to immediately refresh the shield for your opponents turn. You never wanted to attack with Bulwark on and with this spell; weapons get much much better.
...
What does "refresh" mean? Like "Echo", casting twice, mana refund, or something else?
After you cast a holy spell, your hero gains divine shield again, considering it is removed before.
Thanks!! I would think that with traditional grammar, "this" would be a lot more clear than "it". Saying "it" can be interpreted that the spell that is cast is refreshed.
Very fun card. Not sure if it's good, healing (which this is, sort of) is usually not something you want to do early, but this needs to be played early to be worthwhile. The tempo loss might be too high.
Cool part is that you get to draw it early with the 1 mana minion that draws a holy spell if you exclude Equality from the list.
Then how r u going to refresh the shield...
Other Holy spells, especially the self damaging one and minions too!
But then you will have other holy spells in the deck so it isn't a guaranteed draw. So no point removing equality. Also if you play standard the 1 mana minion will be rotating unless he's put in core.
