And now dragon priest is a pain in the ass! YAY
See, the thing I'm not sure about these dragon-based cards is just that - they're dragon based. They only reach their true potential in a dragon deck. Admittedly, everyone and their grandma will be running dragon decks when Blackrock comes out, but you pretty don't even have the choice to throw this guy into any other constructed decks. These dragon-based cards are one-trick ponies, as opposed to things like sludge belcher, piloted shredder and the good doctor - you can throw them into any deck safely.
there are better ways to deal 3 damage with 5 mana
Considering how if I make a deck with Alexstrasa or Ysera, I get them in my opening hand EVERY FKING TIME EVEN IF I MULLIGAN THEM (/rage), I likey. Seems like a good card for Druid/Priest decks that run Ysera to drag the game out a bit with, since ATM they just get faceaggroed into oblivion.
Ever get the feeling there won't be enough dragons to make these really strong so they'll forget about them and print more dragons and these cards will destroy all balance 3-4 expansions from now?
Dragon priest is now a huge thing...
That new 4 drop dragon is a monster!
I wonder how many dragons you need to have in your deck to make these "if you hold" cards valuable enough. I feel we might see a lot more people running Faerie Dragons right after BRM drops in order to increase their statistics, whereas another two drop would be a better alternative.
*notices the imp clinging to his leg like Princess Leia* Okay then....
Fire Elemental for 5 mana with -1/-1 neutral for all classes? Sure. In a drag deck.
You never really use fire ely for stats so 1 less mana makes him much better IMO. (if you're holding a Dragon*)
and still worse than blastmage... ok the dmg isnt random but its 1 less and no rng for 1 more mana.... balance blizzard, balance...
I understand the frustration, but I think blizzard intended neutral cards to be a little weaker then class cards. I think this card has potential in the right deck.
You can't compare this to Blastmage. This guy will 100% kill a 6/3 kelthuzad that's behind a taunt while Blastmage might miss all shots.
They are good in different situations. Blastmage is better against face Hunters but this guy is better against Druids for example.
MIGHT.... we are talking about hearthstone, so keep murphys law in mind...and the odds for 3dmg+ are 31,25%(if i did my math correct, vs 1 target). so pray to rngsus or you get often outtempoed.
i know that the blastmage is a class card( and still not that annoying as dr b)
never the less: this card here seems nice. nice curve with dragon themed deck, less rng and some good counters vs 3hp mechs.... but blizzard: why does it take a new addon to counter a cancermeta?
Neutral Fire Elemental ? really ?!
They just won't let Shamans have anything to themselves!
Lack Luster, as a neutral its no SI agent or flame elemental.
I think they're holding the big legendary dragon reveals for last. Seems like a Lost Tall Strider with an occasional benefit.
I hope they do an "expansion" where they only buff irrelevant cards. 4 mana Stormpike Commando? Not bad. 5/2 Magma Rager? Could be cool. 5/4 Nightblade, Voodoo Doctor restore 3, heck, they could bump the useless 1/4s they've been pushing to 1/5s.
So far it doesn't look like they're giving us much more dragons to hold though..
