YES! We're both out of cards WOO HOO!! *drops 4/4 into 7/7*
Next turn: Opponent top decks BGH.
GDI!!!!
Kinda wished this would have upgraded to 6/6 instead of 7/7 sadly and cost 1 or 2 more mana.
the new op for face hunter
Correct name should have been: Loot the Dog/Lewt the Dog.
Not many will get that if you didn't play WoW vanilla. :)
you should be a detective mate
core rager if its the only card in your hand and you play it it would be weak to big game hunter
Playing him in those Fel Reaver decks?
It's a good card. Hunters don't have a good drop-4. And even if it didn't get the effect, its already good because of the beast synergy.
Probably will never see this card being droped as a 7/7, unfortunately.
If you never intend to use the battle cry and plan on just getting a 4/4 beast for say for mid range or control hunter, you're almost always better of playing Lost Tallstrider for the 5/4 beast. That said the best way to capitalize off this card is making it playable as a turn 4 4/4 but in a deck designed to achieve hellbent (no hand), ideally face hunter. Exceptions may be if you face many priests the 4 attack might be better with the gamble for a big drop on occasion.
Perhaps Mid range (control should always have cards) Top deck wars would be interesting, but by then (when you run out of cards) you wouldn't care if it costed 4 mana or as much as8 mana, you'd draw a card, cast it and hero power (assume turn 8-10). Unless you played a gnomish for draw into this card with hero power for maximum effectiveness during top deck wars, but that's such an oddly specific situation you might see it occur only in very seldom arena runs.
That said the interaction with this card indirectly with the game is interesting however, it changes web spinner as it's another option, likely going to slightly make the card worse as this beast will lower the probability of higher value beasts such as Krush, Highmane, or Malorne. This card will likely not make Hemit any more playable and makes BGH better, as even face hunters may use a 7/7. Piloted Sky Golem gets another average outcome as a 4/4 could be better than a 3/5 say against priests or if you want more damage.
Two mana for a 4/4? Ok, mate. That's really acceptable, for Hunters only.
weak card~
5 is wrong. The reason druid of the fang doesn't see play is because it's so damn expensive.
So, what happens if Starving Buzzard is already in play?
Battlecry goes first. As always. He will be buffed and then you draw a card.
I think you draw first, and it's not get +3/+3.
No. You buff, and then you draw.
If you control a Sword of Justice and Play Aldor Peacekeeper, do you get buffed first, or do you reduce Attack first?
Does Mirror Entity copy a freshly played Flame Imp before or after the Imp ddeals 3 dmg?
Just because you "think" the draw comes before the buff, doesn't make it correct ;-)
Try out Starving Buzzard and Stampeding Kodo and you will see, that's card drawn first, then it kills a minion.
Visually yes. But the buff will still be applied. The minion does not count as summoned until all effects have fully resolved.
Rage*
finally a good 4 drop!
Okay, so I think a lot of people are evaluating this card wrong and seeing it simply as an aggro card or a BGH target.
As someone who has over 1100 hunter wins (and hates face hunter with a burning passion) I really like this card because it is the one things that Hunters have always lacked, a decent 4 mana beast. As a midrange hunter player I feel like there are many times where you are starting to get to the late game and the cards you normally have 3 cards in your hand: 1 or 2 kill commands, 1 late game minion, 1 hard removal like hunter's mark or a card like unleash, or 1 or 2 low mana minions that you have held because you don't want to overextend.
The point is so what. Why should I care that this is my hand and how does it improve this card?
The point is that in every situation except for when you have a late game minion (sometimes including depending on the situation) you are able to play your whole hand, get this minion to be a 7/7, and either make a big push for lethal or allow you to trade up into minions like boom. On top of this it is a beast which is HUGE for hunter, it can activate KC, get buffed by hound master, and be gotten off of webspinner.
I think that this card has a potential to be a really strong addition to hunter if no other reason other than that good 4 mana beasts have always been lacking for hunter.
EDIT: I didn't realize that it was a battlecry when I wrote this, I think it is still good, but a little less good than I first thought.
