This card shouldn't exist. Unlocking mana crystals for such a cheap mana cost...
I'd rather have a card that unlocks overloaded mana crystals for zero mana but doesn't do the 2 damage, even if that means it only unlocks mana crystals on the current turn and not the next as well. It just seems like it's so rare to have a situation where you unlock more crystals than it costs you to play lava shock and still get value out of the 2 damage. It might even be worth it to use it in situations that it doesn't unlock crystals if it were 3 damage, but 2 isn't nearly as relevant. It's not a bad card, it just never feels like I'm getting maximum value when I play it.
Finally this is became viable with the new Shaman's card Elemental Destruction :D!
You could only use it after a turn 6+ Elemental destruction. Since I believe you still need two mana unlocked to get the rest of it.
I doubt it, I think the overload is only going to have impact on the next turn just as any other overload card (at least I hope so because otherwise the card may not be as good as we think :|...)
Lava Shock unlocks all overloaded mana on the current and next turn. Even if you played the Lava Shock on turn 7, it would still be worth it.
Deal 2 damage is a little bit weird for this card.
It's better if it's 'Battlecry: Unlock all your overloaded manas'
Battleycry is only for minions, this is a spell.
I really don't see whats wrong with it, it unlocks any current overload you have as well as any overload that you have already cast for the next turn all for 2 mana and you get a small amount of damage out of it for free.
If I threw a bunch of magical lava at someone I would expect it to hurt.
I can play Dust Devil now! and not have my dreams completely shattered on turn 2 after it dies! Oh wait. I won't have the crystals to play it.
"or your next turn."
WHAT?!?
According to others in this thread, it unlocks all mana crystals this turn as well as any you have locked on the next turn. Though really, you wouldn't be able to rack up a bunch of overload next turn if you're already overloaded this turn, so it is still essentially "or".
I'm really liking this card, hopefully this makes overload shaman viable again.
Late game crusher Shaman:
Turn 9 Earth Elemental + Ancestral Spirit,
Turn 10 Lava shock into Kel'Thuzad
Assuming you can make it to late game with crusher this card enables much more flexibility with the likes of Earth Elemental and Neptulon since most legendaries you might be using are 8-mana or less
Consider this card as a huge mana saving utility. Shaman was called the worst class because overload didn't pay off and won games. In fact overload makes cardplay of Shaman very predictable. A turn 4 overloadd almost indicates that he has Fire Elemental in his hand, exposing his plan all the way to turn 6.
This would be pretty useful, especially with decks that contain lots of Overloads.
I'm not saying thats a bad idea but its definatly too unfiltered to be a good one... maby... for every 2 Overload crystals draw a card, I mean I will agree: SHaman Needs Draw Badly, but 2 mana for a potential 5 card draw.... is a BIT over the top...
0 mana cycle cards will never happen unless they have side effects like overload or conditions like combo.
I was looking for some decks, this one seems great with this card...
