The Witchwood Guide
Battlecry: Summon a random 1-Cost minion for your opponent.
Hungry Hungry Dragon is NOT a fun game.
It's probably not the best dragon, but I have some fun with it.
It feels like it has gotten a bit better as time has gone by, with Netherspite Historian in dragon decks occasionally killing what it summons efficiently, and it gets along well with Bookwyrm by creating a target for him in case there is none.
I also like a silly synergy this has with Second-Rate Bruiser: if an opponent has two minions, you can give them a third and summon a 5/6 and a 4/5 taunt for seven mana: which isn't a bad turn seven in my book.
As a bit of warning though, they'll get a two health one-drop fairly often.
"Hungry Dragon is better than Piloted Shredder." -Reynad 2016
I like this card and I want it to work but I feel like there are too many good and decent 1 drops that sometimes you just get screwed
Do not play this on an empty board.
I remember this one time in arena, the enemy had a 8/3 fel reaver, instead of hiting face first, he played Hungry Dragon, and gave me the 1/2 taunt. He conceded after from the rage, and as I could kill it next turn. Also, he had no more draws left. Man, that was hilarious.
One of my favorite Dragons. This is, to me, significantly better than Pit Lord.
Seven mana play: This guy into Mind Control Tech or 10 mana play: This into Cabal Shadow Priest. For great value!
*Sets up for turn 10 Hungry Dragon Cabal*
*Hungry Dragon gives opponent Dust Devil*
*Ragequit* (didn't actually happen)
really rng card - opponent can also get really good minions
This card sucks when i play it and is awesome for my opponent when he play it.
While it's debatable if this card is better than Piloted Shredder on the board, it's definitely saved me a few times just by sitting in my hand and triggering Blackwing Technician
Best card out of BRM!
I SERVE THE FIRELORD!!
Good thing Pit Lord is epic....
This card pairs very well with a turn 3 Muster for Battle. If a 1 health minion spawns you can just kill it with Light's Justice, otherwise hit it with a silver hand recruit as well.
Exactly what i thought of this card. Thanks for pointing it out. +1 :)
Ok, so I got Flame Imp against me 3 times in a row. After about 10 games, already starting to dislike this card...
I don't think anyone mentioned this but let's say you're looking to build a dragon deck (who isn't ?), and you have just typed "dragon" in the search box of your collection and find out that you now have 2 minions competing in the 4-mana category: Twilight Drake and Hungry Dragon.
I don't think you would put both in the deck, because there's already a lot of other cards to use: Blackwing Technician *2, probably Ysera, probably Azure Drake *2, and then either the Priest dragon card or the Paladin one (*2). On top of everything else you need to put in that deck apart from Dragon(-themed) cards to make it work.
So personally I see Hungry Dragon as an alternative to Twilight Drake, and unless you can benefit from the latter with a big hand (imagine a turn 3 Thoughsteal into turn 4 Twilight Drake with 4/7 stats), I think Hungry Dragon is just a better card in most situations.
Sorry Twilight Drake, I'll be dumping you for Hungry Dragon.
Did you end up dumping both for Twilight Guardian?
As I eagerly wait for this card to come out so I can put it in my Paladin deck... ;_;
