Clearly yes...
While I hate playing against this card, it's clearly not OP... It's epic, high mana and deals damage to the owner's minions as well. Works only in control and dragon decks where minions have much less damage than health, and those decks aren't too strong on the ladder right now, and can be played around. I'm more worried about Secretadin, Renolock and Face Shaman.
I still fucking hate this card with all my heart. It's so overpowered. Only reason no one complains is because they gave it to a shitty class.

I wasn't a fan at first being a dumb noob but this has become my favorite card in the entire game. It is essential to run 1 in all priest decks. When used optimally it's one of the single highest values card in the game. It's great against both aggro and control which makes up 90% of the ladder; it can be tricky against a few things like druid and won't save you from combo sometimes, but in general it'll take an extra attack or spell to completely clear your opponents board and still leave some of your stuff leftover, because A) you control when you use it and B) most priest creatures have much higher health than attack
I've cleared so many 4+ aggro minion boards with it. I've cleared so many giants and other 2+ fatty boards with it. I've never lost vs control warrior with it. Everyone got so hyped about Varian Wrynn when TGT was revealed but I just smiled thinking about the potential Lightbomb value I could get in such a matchup. Lightbomb makes their Varian's best case scenario, a worst case scenario. In many other similar cases it just destroys most of your opponents mid-late game threats at once and puts them in a position where they can't win.
On a side note, this card is another good excuse to run Acolyte of Pain, just throwing that out there.
The control synergy is insane with so many things priest has available. It really punishes opponents who get impatient or try to play faster than you can heal. Almost unfair, really. I could keep gushing but the card speaks for itself in action.
One of the very few cards that can clear Boom AND his bots. Though you'll still get hit in the face for 2-8 damage, Dr.Balanced FTW.
Just love this card, it hurts opponent more than you in most cases, 1 hit all patrons and giants/infernals from jaraxxus, kill most zoo minions without popping the eggs. Great flavor text too.
I don't think it hurting your own minions is really much of a drawback at all. If it is going to do substantial damage to your own board, then that means you have a strong board state and likely have no need to play light bomb anyway.
Does anyone knows if this cards works with the basic stats of a minion?
I had a voljin (6:2) which I swaped with Loathed, so it has 6/5. Then I casted velens chosen on it -> 8/9. When I then casted lightbomb because my enemy hat several giants and some other minions with attack >= hp out my voljoin died. but I thought it should have survived with 1 HP?
I never knew lightbomb paid attention to spell damage, thanks! That explains a near identical situation I had a few days ago but I just thought I glanced to quick at my creatures health and read it wrong since it died. I now feel smarter and stupider all at once! Woo!
EXCELENT answer to patron... literaly a bomb...
I love this card so much. It isn't used super often - partially because Priest is considered the absolute worst class right now - so no one plays around it. It feels amazing when your enemy craps his hand out onto the board and you can wipe everything he has t6 with ONE CARD. Plus if you had Mr T out you can do Lightbomb + Holy Nova, killing even your enemy's high-health minions and healing your lightbomb-damaged ones. Combine with Northshire Cleric if you feel like milling your own deck.
i regret disenchanting 2 of mine.
This card is actually quite like the equality consecrate combo. Same mana cost and often clears the whole board. It also makes your own board quite vulnerable. I think the reason this card is only sometimes played is that is not as versatile as either equality consecrate are by their self.
Got 2 of it yesterday (in the same pack!) and I'm thinking of disenchanting one of them.
What do you think, is 1 of it enough?

Anyone who says this card is bad 99% of the time has never played it. It is so good. It is not bad like people say because it kills your minions. You know what else kills your minions? pyro+equallity, hellfire, soulpriest+coh, brawl. Yet no one is ranting those clears are bad are they? Also because everyone thinks its bad no one plays around it so you get even more value out of it than you would a brawl. Also you control when you play it. you don't have to kill your own board when your opponent doesn't have any minions on board if you don't want to. Lightbomb is one of the few instant solutions to dr. boom. It is also a solution to muster/quartermaster, mech decks, 90% of warrior cards, 100% of handlock cards, 100% of rogue cards, every pirate in the game, and if it doesn't kill everything then throw out an explosive sheep for good measure. If you wanna hate this card because you are trendy and have no mind of your own or because saying its bad is cheaper than crafting it or because you are just too damn lazy to try it for yourself go ahead. That doesn't make the card bad. that makes you bad.

If you have a Lightbomb in hand, better dont misplay the Inner Fire.
Also, it works with +spell buffs, so think about it.
