That's a gigantic "if" though. How many beasts are you playing that cost more than 3? Savannah Highmane and what else? Maexxna maybe, or a one-of Stampeding Kodo or Tundra Rhino? And even ignoring the cost, the average beast-heavy Hunter deck runs maybe 10-12 beasts maximum in their 30; Animal Companion and Unleash the Hounds aren't beast cards themselves. I would argue that this is actually a much, much worse card than Far Sight, and perhaps the worst card we've seen in the expansion so far. I would sooner play the nerfed Starving Buzzard.
So, You are saying that this card is a free innervate... no one would use innervate if it costed 2 mana to activate, could only be applied to a single card, you have know Idea what that card will be until the card is played and there is a strong chance that the card turns out to not even qualify for the mana reduction. This is not innervate. This is a card that at best will put a highmane on the field for 4 mana but more likely it will just be an over priced flare that doesn't destroy secretes or pop a minion out of stealth.
This card will see no play for the same reason as far sight, it is a card that is too inconsistent to be worth a spot in the deck. You only have 30 cards in a deck, this card is too much of a gamble for it to be worth a spot in any deck.
I feel like the official name will be something like "To My Side!" or maybe "Call of the Pack".
Name aside I hope this means that maybe the Midrange Beast Hunter will become viable after the expansion drops. I'm fucking sick of every Hunter running the exact same deck, the second I get into a game with a Hunter I know 90% of their cards, but if my Mulligan isn't perfect I can't do much about it…
It's not amazing, but situationally, I love this card. If you're really lucky, you can use your Coin to play this turn 1, and then drop a Savannah turn 2. This could be a really fun card for a mid-range Hunter deck that features a lot of beasts (Rhino, Kodo, Highmane, maybe Tiger). Getting any one of those out on turn 2 or 3 could be game-changing. Worst case, you spend 2 mana to draw a card, just like a Druid would if they draw a Wild Growth late in the game.
Your deck would have to either be heavily focused around using this card to really be useful.
A typical hunter deck is 1/3 beasts, and (in the current meta) the only beast that is 4 or more mana is Savannah Highmane. If you really needed to cycle cards, I would use Novice Engineer instead.
I hope this brings the return of beasty hunter decks!
It's so good i can almost hear king krush on turn 3
is that Amaz math?
And this is why the new Paladin and Shaman class cards are absolutely terrible in comparison to other new class cards... an already dominant constructed class gets another ridiculous card, thanks for making KK and Beast actually somewhat viable now Blizzard. What was the thought process behind this? "You know what hunter is really missing, turn 5 KK! Or potentially a complete reversal of buzzard nerf"
Now I see why they nerfed the buzzard
Farsight for Hunter......with a slightly tighter restriction.
It's NOT a Far Sight. When you draw a beast it's a free Innervate. Note that this card gives you 2 mana advantage while Far Sight gives you 0. This card is much better than Far Sight if you can draw a beast.
This card is crazy good.
