I think this is a good card. 5 armor is quite strong, and a 5/5 body for 6 is fine. It probably won't find a place in most warrior decks? But I would like to try it..
I like to see this as a Shield Block minus the 1 card draw for 2 mana and a 5/5 body for 4 mana. looks okay to me.
Honestly, how could I shield slam a giant on turn 4 without my shield block? Or that innervate Yeti or whatever? Or should I trade for Sylv? HAHAHA.
Useless in the actual control warrior, we dont leak armor for shield slams and dont leak drop 6. Maybe with more shield based cards, or maybe with a mech-warrior.
If there will be some other armor oriented cards it may be good. Otherwise it's too overcosted for shield slams fuel.
The reason some cards exist is to make other cards better. All I can see is a big Shield Slam. Also, it works decently with Bouncing Blade.
Unless, of course, this expansion has more cards that work based on the amount of armor you have.
I think we are forgetting that this card will have its uses. I can see this card being used with Molten Giant after an opponent has whittled away your hp just to bring out some free molten giants and put you out of kill shot territory. I think Shield Slam goes without saying. In addition this is not much different than that pally 5/6 card, which I can't remember its name.
For 6 mana it seems a waste of space on the deck, wouldnt use this instead of Carnie,Blackknight or Sylvanas,, I would even take A Sunwalker instead, there are so many ways in which this card would be playable:
-Make it 5 cost
no?? then 5 cost and give it +1 hp and -1 atk (like a Spectral Knight).
too op? then give it -1 hp OR atk and make it a 5 cost)
OR 5 cost deathrattle: gain 5 armor instead of battlecry.
OR give it +1 hp and keep it as 6 cost.
OR give it taunt and only gives 3 armor (compared to Fire Elemental it would still be weaker overall).
This is only gonna be played in arena or low ranks if it doesnt get a bit of a buff.
Loatheb interacts with your opponent's next turn whereas this effect lasts forever (technically) and can interact with other stuff. I feel like it might also be suggesting that there will be another armor-interaction card added to warrior besides Shield Slam. This card is already a 5/5 body, a 5 hp heal and a Lava Burst for 7 mana when combined with Shield Slam. I can see it being run.
I honestly don't get the detractors for this card. This is one of the modes for Ancient of Lore (admittedly the weaker mode, but still) for 1 mana less, or if you prefer, a Guardian of Kings with -0/-1, 1 less health gained and the potential to put you over 30, again for 6 rather than 7. It's also a direct upgrade to Priestess of Elune, rarity notwithstanding. It's not exciting, but it's good.
I wanted to see the pirate :P .
The problem is, it competes heavily with a lot of good 6-drops in CW, and if you look at it as a "combo" with shield slam, chances are you may have used your slam before this has come out. Is it going to see play? Sure, as a 1-of in some lists that is using it as a meta choice, but it will not be an everyday card.
6-drops in control Warrior: The Black Knight, Cairne Bloodhoof, Sylvanas Windrunner. In the current meta, this is at least on par with Syl; Sludge Belcher makes it worse than TBK, and Cairne is... well, bonkers no matter what, really. But given the skew towards aggro, CW decks that run Syl might want to try this instead.
Guardian of Kings has 5-6 for 7 mana and heels for 6 health. So this card acts similar, but it have a better value and +5 armor is better then heal for 6 health.
Seems a bit overcosted at 6 mana. Why not put it at five? The mirroring is real! FIVEFIVEFIVEFIVE...
