Mistermath's Card Ratings for Voyage to the Sunken City:
8/10
Yet another colossal that compares favorably to Firelands Portal! This time, it costs 1 mana less, has better stats (6/5 is higher than the average 5 mana minion), usually deals 12 damage, and then finally leaves you with a 2/1 weapon (assuming your opponent removes Crabatoa. Not only that, there's really no "but the portal can go face" argument, since your weapons can certainly go face here. Absolutely insane, and obviously an auto-include into every single rogue deck.
You know how we laugh at Blizzard for not including a preview of tokens a card generates. Here is a website like Hearthpwn not including the tokens as well...
Looks delicious. And probably useful, too...
I wonder how many people are going to throw a fit when their two 2/1's with Rush aren't 4/1 because they are "Crabatoa's Claws". It's the weapon you get from their deathrattle that has the +2 bonus.
I had much the same thought when I saw this card, but ultimately I think you're overthinking it.
Yes, the weapon and the minion have different names, but that's just a practical choice, and both are the claws of Crabatoa. It doesn't make sense to differentiate them for the purposes of this effect.
Plus, the whole point of colossal minions is for the main minion to have a synergy with the summoned minion(s). It goes against the colossal design philosophy for the Crabatoa effect to not apply to the claw minions. It's much more likely for it to only apply to the minions, but I believe a designer explicitly said that was not the case.
Of course, blizzard isn't known for design consistency, so I could be wrong, but I don't think they'd shoot themselves in the foot like that. At least, not in this particular case.
