This Week's Brawl: Spiders, Spiders EVERYWHERE!
The theme of this week's Brawl is Spiders, Spiders EVERYWHERE! Spiders have overrun everything, including your deck! Whatever class you play, your deck will be TEEMING with Webspinners.
You can play as any class, but your deck is randomly generated to contain 7 random spells from your class, and 23 webspinners. Come join the rng discussion over on the Tavern Brawl forums.

Archon Team League Starts Tomorrow
Tomorrow is the start of the Archon Team League Championships! Eight teams, with three players each, will be competing for their share of a staggering $250,000 prize pool. Matches will use a best of 11 conquest format, with each player bringing 2 decks to the table and no classes being repeated on each team.
The first matchup will be Team Archon vs Nihilum, followed by Value Town vs Cloud9, starting at 10 AM PDT (13:00 EDT, 19:00 CET). All matches will be hosted on Amaz's Twitch channel.
More detailed information on the event can be found over in our Survival Guide!
Paladin & Shaman Alt Hero Powers
Zeriyah responded to a query on Twitter earlier today regarding alternative hero power tokens for the new Shaman and Paladin heroes which are yet to be released. It's "too early to say", but that certainly doesn't rule it out.
Would you like to see new tokens for the new heroes? Which Paladin and Shaman would you like to see?
I think you should be able to buy new hero portraits with Gold too or win them for winning 500 games with a hero.
To be honest, this game mode kinda loses it's charm the moment you draw your 10th Captain's Parrot or Hungry Crab....
I've had a very good win rate so far with druid, though I can't tell how effective it is vs Hunter. I've had 1 win and 1 loss in that matchup, which obviously makes for a small sample size. Kind of surprised I haven't seen more hunters, actually.
In any case, I've had fairly good luck getting ramp cards like Innervate and Nourish to get out those high cost beasts before the opponent has an answer for them. No Wild Growth seen yet though, oddly enough.
Who else wanted them to shuffle Hemet Nesingwary into each deck?
The moment you get Scavenging Hyena, you win
I really have no luck with the random spells (I always get holy wrath and noble sac with paladin, naturalize and savagery with druid, etc). -_-
EDIT: Still fun to play, have gotten some really weird combos off, even if my luck with spells is bad.
The RNG factor produces most of the Hearthstone's fun. There are no better moments, than getting THE LEGENDARY from Unstable Portal oder Sylvanas stealing the best minion on the opponent's board.
Tavern Brawl was intended for being a fun mode and this week I already had so much fun with it, because it is like 100% RNG. ;)
I prefer modes that force you to play the game in a different way, such as those with different deckbuilding rules. Last week's wasn't too bad actually, you had to think about how best to take advantage of a mode where both players would constantly be provided with a stream of cheap spells that could be buffs, do damage, or even invert a minion's stats. Hell, Rag vs Nef was good in theory, it was just ruined by the horribly bad power imbalance between the two decks.
This one? This one's just a crapshoot. To hell with thinking outside the box, you barely have to do any thinking at ALL. Roll the dice and win or lose.
Surprisingly, hunter isn't on top with this. Just had a Druid deck with two Recycles and they won me the game! I was hating when I saw them but they're good removals in this mode :D
but boy do the games take forever >.<
RNG FUN!!
Tavern brawl sucks balls.
Really like the new card back!
I agree. In theory, I'd eventually like to climb up the ladder, but so far I'm still pretty new, so I'm liking Tavern Brawl for multiple reasons:
1: Kind of the obvious one, but the potential to see different types of decks than in ranked and arena, and potentially see some fun stuff with cards that usually never get played.
2: Extra card pack, which is always nice as a f2p player.
3: Lets me beat some quests without going into casual mode and having to trot out a deck I know is no good just to try and get that gold.
Finally, I'll admit that while I was intrigued for all of the 3 weeks so far, the fun kind of wore off after a few games. But the beauty of the weekly format is that, well, who cares? They have the freedom to try out literally anything they want, and if it's a stinker, well, it will be gone in a week anyway and you can try something new.
Anyway, I personally like all the play modes, but at worst if I didn't like one, it's not like it would somehow ruin the otherother play modes for me. Broadening the scope of the game just seems like a good thing.
I don't believe it. Somehow this week's Tavern Brawl manages to be even worse than last week's!
RNG (entire deck of Webspinners) plus RNG (seven TOTALLY RANDOM class spells) equals a pointless waste of time. They might as well just flip a coin with the winner of the toss winning the game immediately. In my first game, 2 of my first 4 Webspinners gave me Captain's Parrot, literally the WORST minion Webspinner can conceivably give you (at least Angry Chicken only costs you 1 rather than being a useless 1/1 with no abilities for 2) and in my second game my opponent dropped a Snake Trap, countered my lucky 6/4 Scavenging Hyena with an even luckier Kill Command, then got his OWN Scavenging Hyena up to 10/6 off the Snake Trap before I could even react! Any hope I had for Tavern Brawl's potential is rapidly draining away.
I sure as shit hope they don't. Apparently "good, clean, dumb fun" means making the game almost totally mindless, with skill practically a non-factor. If I wanted my victory or defeat to be totally determined by luck, I'd go down to the casino (or play Nightbanes).
Yeah because candy crush was such big success in terms of # of players and money revenue it made because how much more skill it required than HS...
Everybody should acknowledge the fact that HS is not a game made for you only. Let them do whatever they need to do to get the 'casuals' coming in so that 'hardcore' players like you and me can keep enjoying the new content they put into the game and the parts that we already do.
another nice cardback!
played a few games of tavern brawl earlier, fun enough that i'll at least play enough to get a win with each class, which is far more than i can say about last week. got a golden Grommash from my pack after getting a golden Hogger last week Kreygasm. have had pretty amazing luck in my packs over the last month, despite a relatively small sample size, scoring 5 legendaries - and 3 of them golden!
Oh look, a second week of Tavern Brawl where hunter reigns supreme.
Watch as I'm shocked and amazed. ><
Rogur is actually the best class to use. Hero Powe almost always 2 for ones, and the potential for burn or removal spells
Tell that to the rogue I facestomped into oblivion with...take a guess...hunter. Snake Trap's a bitch. 2 for one seven 1/1 with your hero power while I just pump out bigger and bigger minions from the spinners you FoK off the board.
And all the while, take 2 to the face. Hunter's definitely better than rogue in this mode because hunter synergizes best with Webspinners. Hero power doesn't win games. Deck synergy does. But you go on with your daggers thinking that's the best class for a game mode that just handed you a hunter synergy deck.
