Quote from Blizzard“Well, look who it is!”
Some new faces have just shown up at the inn! Hearthstone®: Heroes of Warcraft is happy to welcome new Heroes as they pull up a chair at the game table!
These new Heroes put a fresh face on the classes you know and love, and bring along some unique surprises of their own.
Picture Perfect
These new Hearthstone Heroes will feature beautifully detailed animated Hero portraits, including all-new art never before seen in the Blizzard universe. The first new Hero we’re introducing is a famed Warrior—the mighty King of Ironforge himself, Magni Bronzebeard!
Aside from the vibrant new Hero portrait artwork, these new Heroes also come with unique Hero power animations. Magni’s version of the Warrior’s “Armor Up!” Hero Power is sure to reinforce the fact that his majesty is not to be trifled with!
New Heroes also come with unique emotes and voices that convey their individual personalities, a play area featuring a custom visual theme, and nifty “entering the game” animations so you can greet (or intimidate) your next opponent in style.
If that wasn’t enough, new Heroes also come with a unique card back that will impress even the mightiest of dwarven kings! The steadfast “Magni” card back is added to your collection immediately after purchasing the Magni Bronzebeard Hero, and can be used with any deck of your choice.
New Heroes will be available for purchase from the in-game Shop for $9.99 USD! Usurp the traitorous Garrosh Hellscream and bring down the hammers of dwarven justice with Magni Bronzebeard; the first new Warrior Hero for Hearthstone—coming soon!
New Heroes do not add new cards to your collection or change the classes’ activated Hero Power and are not considered new classes.
Arthas will be the new Paladin hero and that will be the end of the DK dream... ^^
So does Garrosh go away completely or do you have a choice to toggle between him and Magni?
it clearly says you can set a favorite hero for each class..Garrosh just chills there if you want to use him.
Yep, that information wasn't available when it was first announced. At least it will be nice to have a choice.
Will be having fun with bming Magni when winning with Garrosh ;3.
I read this as "Man-gina." May you have many victories against Mangina.
You're dreaming. This won't change a thing.
Objectively, no it isnt.
Choices? Players are buying a portrait. It doesnt affect the gameplay in any way. No new decklists or playstyles.
1. Blizzard is already making Millions on this game.
2. In a capitalist market, you create more income by offering more value. If they see that this (the portrait) does well, they will know their audience values this, and give more of this. If it does not, they will have to create what their audience sees as value. The idea that this being successful leads to them changing other things is absurd.
If they are looking to create more income, they can make the game better, give actual options (more powers, cards, etc). If they see players are happy as is, the game will stay as-is.
I like the game currently, but want to see gameplay improvements and changes. Those I will pay for, even if they arent perfect because I want more of that. Trivial stuff like a new portrait I want less of.
>Blizzard
>generous
lmao
F2P game.. go look at League of Legends, TONS of portraits for sale it's how these games make their money.
Maybe they will let you try it before paying (like in HOTS)
Even sadder than that is that you don't realize how healthy this is for the game. They have to generate revenue somehow, and they're doing so in such a way that it doesn't offer any competitive advantages.
Blizzard is making absurd amounts of money from this game, this is just a way to milk their customers for more.
Are you kidding? They already generate a tremendous amount of revenue with Hearthstone from people constantly buying packs, arena runs, and adventures with money, not to mention ad revenue as well as exposure for being one of the highest played games on Twitch. You make it sound like they're struggling.
That said, I'll still probably end up picking up the Shaman portrait depending on how it looks and what the cardback looks like.
well derp they are a company that trys to make money gee I wonder why they would try to make more.
I know most have already stated this, but 9.99 seems like an awful lot of money for a skin.
It's actually pretty standard for online games. HotS has skins priced at $9.99, and games like LoL vary from about $5 to about $30. Plus, we get all the classes for free in this game! And can get all the cards for free.
Yes, but in those games it's a three-dimensional model with dozens of vo clips, animations, and partical effects. In this, it's a single image with emotes and a static attack motion. Have you ever tinkered with UV-maps on a 3D model? It's not fun. You could argue that the cardback tacked on makes it worth the price, buuuut I'm gonna have to be on the 'not worth' side.
I do have to say that it would be so much cooler, if you didnt get golden right away. I mean everyone wants to be unique. Now you have something to play for again. I mean getting a golden new hero portrait would make you pretty rare. But no...lets just give everyone golden right away. This might not sound like a big deal to some people. But I would probably only get them if they were NOT golden. Now you a goal again. Legend isnt a goal anymore blizzard! But they just dont seem to get that....
I thought the same.
