Hidden Laboratory Boss Cards
Planning on theorizing some decks before Hidden Lab launches on Thursday? Below you can find all of the boss-specific cards that we know about for each of this week's encounters.
Keep in mind that the heroic versions of these bosses most likely have armor, the values of which we won't know until the wing is live.
Omnotron Defense System
This fight is going to revolve around the four different trons being summoned or activated in either a pre-defined order or randomly. Looking at the mana costs of the activation spells, it looks like we may see Arcanotron first followed by Toxitron, Electron, and finally Magmatron, with the fight continuing randomly afterwards.
If that's the case, spells can be pretty deadly early on, but you'll want to have some beefy minions on the field to avoid dying to Toxitron's AoE ability.
Card | Text | Cost | Attack | Health |
---|---|---|---|---|
Boss: Omnotron Defense System | 30 | |||
Power: Activate! | Activate a random Tron. | 2 | ||
Power: Activate Arcanotron | Activate Arcanotron! | 0 | ||
Power: Activate Toxitron | Activate Toxitron! | 2 | ||
Power: Activate Electron | Activate Electron! | 4 | ||
Power: Activate Magmatron | Activate Magmatron! | 6 | ||
Arcanotron | Both players have Spell Damage +2. | 0 | 2 | 2 |
Toxitron | At the start of your turn, deal 1 damage to all other minions. | 1 | 4 | 4 |
Electron | All spells cost (3) less. | 3 | 6 | 6 |
Magmatron | Whenever a player plays a card, Magmatron deals 2 damage to them. | 5 | 8 | 8 |
Recharge | Fill all empty Mana Crystals. | 0 | ||
Magmaw | Taunt | 5 | 10 | 2 |
Maloriak
This fight's unique mechanic is swapping the Health and Attack of all your minions. Playing minions that normally have very high health and low mana costs could prove to be beneficial in the early game. At some point he will start to release Aberration, which on Heroic will be at 3/3 due to the passive hero power - you may want some taunts to lessen the blow on your hero. He will very likely have at least 4 of this card in his deck.
Card | Text | Cost | Attack | Health |
---|---|---|---|---|
Boss: Maloriak | 30 | |||
Passive: The Alchemist | Minions' Attack and Health are swapped. Your minions have +2/+2. | |||
Release the Aberrations! | Summon 3 Aberrations. | 2 | ||
Aberration | Charge | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Atramedes
The Atramedes fight involves some heavy weapon mechanics. His hero power will spawn a him a new weapon which starts off at 0 damage. The weapon gains damage every time you play a card. If you want to get far in this fight, you may want to play around with cards which can destroy his weapon when it gets too big such as Acidic Swamp Ooze, Harrison Jones, Sabotage, or Blingtron 3000.
Reverberating Gong may be a card that you receive and not one that he has - it worked that way in the WoW fight!
Card | Text | Cost | Attack | Health |
---|---|---|---|---|
Boss: Atramedes | 30 | |||
Power: Echolocate | Equip a weapon that grows as your opponent plays cards. | 0 | ||
Weapon: Dragonteeth | Whenever your opponent plays a card, gain +1 Attack. | 1 | 0 | 6 |
Sonic Breath | Deal 3 damage to a minion. Give your weapon +3 Attack. | 4 | ||
Reverberating Gong | Destroy your opponent's weapon. | 1 |
Nefarian
The final encounter of Blackrock Mountain! Looking at the cards, it looks like this fight is just like the Nefarian fight in WoW's Blackwing Descent. Assuming that it is, the following should be correct.
The fight should start off with Onyxia as the Hero with the hero power which lets Nefarian rain fire from above. After Onyxia is defeated, Nefarian will take over and he will summon Chromatic Prototype. After you defeat the prototypes, all that will be left to do is to kill him while keeping the bone constructs under control.
Card | Text | Cost | Attack | Health |
---|---|---|---|---|
Boss: Nefarian | 30 | |||
Boss: Onyxia | 30 | |||
Power: Bone Minions | Summon two 4/2 Bone Constructs. | 2 | ||
Power: Nefarian Strikes! | Nefarian rains fire from above! | |||
Bone Construct | 1 | 4 | 2 | |
LAVA! | Deal 2 damage to all minions. | 2 | ||
Chromatic Prototype | Taunt | 2 | 1 | 4 |
Onyxiclaw | 2 | 2 | 6 |
Asia just released! Sounds the alarms! Run Timmy! Tell everyone the good news!
This wing was super easy :D
Heroic Clears
As always, good work man. Cheers for sharing.
This was by far the easiest Heroic week IMO, especially with the decks on the website. One-shot the first 3 bosses, took two tries on the last one. A bit of a disappointment, but it was more fun and less rage. (Especially considering how much of a nightmare Heroic KT was...)
Live in EU Yo... Everyone, GET IN HERE!
Pretty bummed that Warsong Commander is bugged on the Maloriak fight. Had a good deck idea that I think would've had a high win rate against him (the basic idea was to run high health minions like Mogushan and give them charge, and just burst him down with really efficient damage).
Nefarian Fight spoiler about mechanics (read at your own risk):
Nefarian, on normal, starts off with the bone construct hero power to summon two 2/1 minions, 30 hp, and 10 armor. Once to breach his armor he leaves the battlefield and summons Onyxia (15 hp) to take his place. While Onyxia is out Nefarian will hit you in the face with fire for ramping damage every turn (1 damage turn 1, 2 damage turn 2, etc). Also of note, Onyxia has a 2/6 weapon automatically. Once you kill Onyxia, Nefarian will come back down and destroy your entire board and the fight resumes from there.
Things of note:
I used an Inner Fire deck combine with deathrattle minions to beat him. Specifically, I controlled the board state until I got Feugen and Stalagg down. Then I rammed him in the face for 16 damage (after reducing his armor to 1, leaving him with 15 hp) with my big taunt. I then beat Onxyia until she was almost dead (just didn't have enough juice left to kill her in the same turn). On my next turn I killed her, Feugen died (and Stalagg had died many turns ago) and summoned Thaddius whom I buffed to 22 hp and then used Inner Fire. I won on my following turn.
Heroic is a bit harder, but doable.
Hope this helps.
This adventure has been great. cant wait to hear what Blizzard is cooking up for the next adventure.
Can't wait to finally get that card back! :D
can't wait to use nefarion to get sac pact versus handlock and auto-kill his jaraxxus xD
wish the trons were a real collectible card they just have so much personality like all mech cards cant wait to hear there soundbites :)
maloriak reminds me so much of KAMEK, bowser's advisor :)
inb4 atramedes weapon mysteriously goes missing
still not online in europe?
really? now thats a bummer
Yes! I love the games where minions attack and health get swapped, it's easily my favourite Hearthstone mechanic. Loved fighting Thaddeus, I'm sure I'll love fighting Maloriak.
From that description of Nefarian, it looks to be a very interesting, long, hard fight. Looking forward to it.
It feels like they were trying to deliberately delay the onslaught of Dragadin from how cards are coming out, but man Volcanic Drake and Blackwing Corruptor are a serious powerspike. I'm curious about if Drakonid Crusher will be played (and to what extent).
EDIT: Another thought: Will paladin always be the last class challenge in every adventure?
To Heroic Mode I'm thinking Hero Power Reaction Priest for Omnotron, Egg + AoE Warlock for Maloriak, Ooze Handlock for Atramedes and OTK Priest for Nefarian. I hope Paladin Challenge Deck is decent this time. Naxx Pala Deck, never forget. =P
Is there a full heroic completion card back?
Incorrect, the lava card back was for preordering, the heroic completion card back is called Nefarian and has purple scale, fur, and bone spikes/teeth. (LINK: http://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/File:Card_back-Nefarian.png)
