Hearthstone Patch 7835 Official Notes
The patch we datamined last week is now live! The Lunar Card Back is in the client for the end of this season, and there's some nice improvements to spectator mode.
Additionally, there's a new summoning animation for V-07-TR-0N via Mimiron's Head!
Quote from BlizzardGeneral
- The following card backs have been added to Hearthstone:
- Lunar Card Back: Acquired by reaching Rank 20 or higher in Ranked Play mode during the month of February.
- When a match you are spectating ends, your client will be put into a waiting state until your friend joins another match. You’ll automatically connect to their next match without having to re-enable Spectator Mode. How convenient!
- Mimiron's Head has an AWESOME new play animation. Go ahead, push the big red button!
- [iPad/Android] You should no longer see the “You have been disconnected” message when you start up the game.
- [iPad/Android] The in-game friend’s list should now open much faster.
Bug Fixes
- Players will now continue to spectate a match even after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Cogmaster has taken a break from constructing mechanical menaces and has given himself a tune-up! His attack will now properly increase when a Mech is in play, even after his Attack and Health stats have been swapped.
Wonderful animation, good job !
A little too Exodia
I've been wrecked by this once!
Once is enough :)
And when will come the Dr. Boom-nerf patch? :P
(I have two copies of it and I'm getting bored playing in every deck the one and waiting to disenchant for 1600 dusts the other)

Wicked Animation!
Very silly question probably, but isn't data mining forbidden by the game's TOS ?
Was thinking the same thing lol
Sexy animation, but the card remains gimmicky
This just reminds me of that recent Trolden/Hearthfunny vid were Mimiron's Head times 3 just absorbed the first two V-07-tr-0ns for a grand total of 1. ;P
Lol I wonder what that would look like with this new animation
I had to rewatch the animation a couple times before I figured out where the one-eyed cheat came from...
That Vol-tron animation reminds me of Power Rangers haha
That's on purpose, back to it's Voltron roots, which was directly inspired by the original Japanese power rangers.
Cool, I didn't know that before. Thanks for sharing
Actually is inspired in Voltron, a super old anime.
There were actually several different versions of Voltron. By far the most popular in the U.S. was the Lion Force Voltron, which came out in 1984. There were five individual lion robots that joined together to form one giant robot. The art and animation itself was originally from a Japanese series called Beast King GoLion. The "Mega-thrusters are go!" quote that the Hearthstone card uses is part of the sequence that the pilots would recite as Voltron was forming. Here's a clip of the scene that pretty clearly inspired the card animation: https://youtube.com/watch?v=tZZv5Z2Iz_s
There was another version of Voltron that was made up of different vehicles (cars, trucks, planes, boats, etc.). I definitely remember that they were split up into an air team, a sea team, and a land team, but the rest is a bit fuzzy. This version was much less popular. It was taken from a different anime series, but I have no idea what the name of that one was.
I actually had the toys for both of these versions as a kid (yes, I'm ancient by Hearthstone standards), and they were incredible. The vehicle version was enormous and it was made up of more than a dozen separate vehicles. Think Transformers on Barry Bonds level steroids.
I know there was at least one more version, possibly more.
Someone else said that Voltron was based on the Power Rangers. I know absolutely nothing about the Power Rangers, but I'm pretty sure that there isn't a connection. As I said before, Voltron was basically repurposed footage from a couple of different Japanese anime series edited into new stories with English voiceovers. I guess there could have been a connection between the Power Rangers and the original anime series... but I've never seen or heard any reference to that before today.
DAT. FREAKING. ANIMATION.
O_O

Nice to see an actual cool animation for that card!
