Hearthstone Dev Iksar Seeks Ideas For An Upcoming Expansion Theme
Hearthstone developer Iksar announced on his Twitter that he seeks ideas for an upcoming expansion theme, also confirms that the Thursday stream will feature an upcoming expansion announcement.
Happy to see the teaser for the next expansion out! We're going to start brainstorming another future expansion in the next couple weeks. If you could choose any Warcraft setting or expansion theme you wanted, what would you pick?

Ragnaros set re-release??
Maybe an expansion called like the Wilds of Kalimdor and it would include most of the non starter zones from Kalimdor Feralas, Ashenvale, Un Goro, Moonglade, Winterspring, Tanaris, Desolace, Barrens, and maybe thousand needles. It could be a year of expansion that follow the story line style that the EVIL League vs League of explorers had and could center around Warcraft 3 era lore so all of the major heroes that we currently play as could have playable cards (not hero cards).
I want a return to expansion... return to Ungoro, return to gadgetzahn, or return to the fzn throne are my top three picks
1. Chen's Brewfest |A whimsical Expansion with every race of Pandaria coming to the Brewfest of Chen Stormstout.
2. Fate of Zin'Ashari |An Expansion all around the Naga and their beloved Queen Azshara where we'll uncover her dark plans.
3. Shadowlands | Current stuff with old uncovered Lore about the afterlife in all of Warcraft.
4. Drums of War | An Expansion based around the faction war Alliance vs Horde with many of races' capitals involved.
Special ideas from you friend
Something that associates with the Professions in WoW. There are 11 Primary Professions currently in WoW, each class can get 1 profession associated with their class, and there will be 1 neutral profession.
It could be a labors day themed expansion with each class hard at work with their associated profession. Warrior with Mining, Druid with Herbalism, Hunter with Skinning, Mage with Enchanting, etc etc.
Battlegrounds theme (e.g. Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin)
new minion type pls
BUT if we r talking about a theme, then PANDARIA!
This is going to sound crazy, but hear me out. I see an expansion titled something along the lines of Call of the Wild... There are currently 10 expansions in Wild, with 10 classes in the game. Each class gets cards thematically based off of previous sets. I know, I know. Ambitious, unrealistically vast, but it wouldn't be too hard. I have it thought out like this.
Demon Hunter: Knights of the Frozen Throne
Druid: Journey to Un'Goro
Hunter: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan
Mage: The Boomsday Project
Paladin: The Grand Tournament
Priest: Whispers of the Old Gods
Rogue: Rastakhan's Rumble
Shaman: The Witchwood
Warlock: Kobolds and Catacombs
Warrior: Goblins vs. Gnomes
However, I do realize they asked for Warcraft related expansions, so with that ridiculous idea out of the way, I think an expansion about Westfall would be interesting. We could see more about the Defias Brotherhood, some different harvest golems, The Deadmines, ETC. I've always really liked that zone for some reason.
I would love to see wow professions in hearthstone, I made some custom profession cards in the past. But let the designers think about it.
I would love to see something Tauren themed involving Cairne Bloodhoof.
Lich King as the Death Knight class or Lich King skin for Paladin or Warrior. Maybe a Undead minion type.
Pandaria. I can't believe hearthstone hasn't visited the panda homeland yet. Even if we don't get monk as a class. We just need to get to the place.
Maybe something about the Titans, about the history of the Pantheon and its mission, about Sargeras' betrayal, and many other things related to this topic. I think getting to know the origins of Warcraft for new Heartstone players or those in the dark is a great idea for a new expansion. I hope you pick up on my topic ;)
Can we get one for the Classic Scartlet Monastery? We’ve seen the Dev pull some really creative expansions in the past based on instances and raids. Classic SM would be perfect, four instances and a crusade.
Or or or what about the Carvers of Time or AQ 40?
Anything from classic WoW!
Imagine vanilla races from goldshire and barrens just a bit stronger than in classic set.
It could be a try to reset this bad situation where every next expansion brakes the game. First expansion of the year would be just a few OP legendaries and epics, but in time standard would be refreshed with all the broken rng going to wild. So a full year of mediocre cards would definitely lower the bar of every new card needing to be OP and after a full year we would have fresh HS again!
We want smart combos and clever trading, not just trowing crap and seeing what happens!!!
Ulduar It's the expansion i have always wanted the most
I would like to see a theme involving battlepets as sidekicks that can do random things to your deck, just small buffs or some gentle value situations like helps you draw a card or something. Almost like a passive effect that has a chance to activate.
Would also love to see some wintry themes. Plenty of snow, ice and mountains on wow lore, would be nice to get a proper wintry theme near Christmas for one expansion in the future. Winterspring ❤️
i'd rather would like to see non-combat pets, which could interact in someway with battle field (sniffing and digging the corners, play with crystals or so).
It's also available for selling by Blizz like hero portraits. People loves small cute creatures.
May be anyone remember in the end of 90th there were a small programm for windows. When you run it - small sheep (I also saw orange) appear and starts roaming on your desktop screen, walking on the windows top borders, falling from the edges, etc.
It would be nice to see something similar in HS.
A Grand Feast / Cookery Contest / The Epic Gourmet
Every class would get a unique weapon (Special Cooking Aparatus)
Thematicaly different ways to acquire/prepare ingredients (Warlock-DH using fel magics, Shaman-Mage elementalism, Paladin-Priest holy fire, Druid growing his own food, Warrior-Rogue bashing and skewering stuff respectively and Hunter well.. hunting)
Could even introduce unique multiple-condition Quests and call them Recipes.
