Patch 7628 is now LIVE!
Undertaker has been nerfed. Restart your Battle.net client if you haven't received the patch. Official patch notes taken from the launcher can be found below. It also looks like there won't be a Lunar New Year event, they've just changed the greetings for each hero in China, Korea, and Taiwan.
2:16 PM EST: Golden Undertaker can now be disenchanted for full value.
Quote from BlizzardGeneral
- The following card backs have been added to Hearthstone:
- Maraad Card Back: Acquired by reaching Rank 20 or higher in Ranked Play mode during the month of January.
- (zhCN/koKR/zhTW) Celebrate the Lunar New Year in Hearthstone! Heroes will say “Happy New Year” instead of “Hello” when emotes are used.
- Card packs in the in-game Shop no longer default to Classic card packs. Players must now manually choose which card packs they would like to buy before making a purchase the first time the Shop is used or with each release of new card sets in the Shop. Once a card pack is purchased, the Shop will default to the last purchased card pack until the next time a new card set is released in the Shop.
Card Changes
- Undertaker now reads: Whenever you summon a minion with Deathrattle, gain +1 Attack.
- Undertaker was frustrating to play against. It often gained both attack and health stats significantly above those of other inexpensive minions very early in the game. With this change, we expect Undertaker will still be better than other 1-mana minions when played in a deck with a Deathrattle theme, but more likely to die from combat with other minions.
Bug Fixes
- Secrets no longer have a delay between their trigger and animation. Poor Noble Sacrifice – it just wants to get down!
- Addressed an issue that sometimes resulted in player names showing up as Unknown in-game. You’re a player, not a Secret!
- (esMX) Updated Malorne’s text to now be correct.
- (ptBR) Updated Scarlet Purifier’s text to now be correct.

I'd love to read a news about the Pinnacle II results
when the decklists are available??
While I may agree that it would make more sense to make people choose every single time they enter the shop, the developers may have felt this would be too obnoxious for players so decided on a middle ground.
What they did now is more subtle than people realize. All those videos of the streamers selecting the wrong boosters is entirely because it defaulted to the basic pack, and not the expansion. If it defaulted to the expansion, they'd keep buying it.
They may have the data, showing the metrics that reveal a strong insistence to buy the expansion packs exclusively after switching over to them from the basic pack.
If so, this fix will prevent accidental basic pack purchases for future expansions, and reduce the amount of accidental pack purchase across the board. If, as I mentioned, people pretty much sit on only expansion packs once switching over. Which is something I suspect is true.
Obviously a minor patch but better to make small changes than wait on them for some big patch.
What is the coup system?
Finaly UT no more XD
Will be interesting to see what happens regarding Hosty cheating in the tournament yesterday.
Had to look this up on Reddit after reading your comment. Crazy!
Yeah, the reddit detectives were all over it :) Can't believe he still lost!!
Didn't realize he lost, on top of being released from his team, after getting caught cheating in the tournament that his team's founder created. Eesh, what a way to go.
Amazing, I didn't realise anything had happened yet! It seems pretty clear that he was cheating so I'm glad the team dropped him.
He seems so be swearing up and down that he wasn't actually cheating, but I really think that the evidence is undeniable. If I'm being totally honest, I'm a bit disappointed in myself for not picking up on the reflection in the back. It's pretty obvious.
Oooohhh, I didn't see this. I've always had a disliking for Hosty, he always came off as an arrogant douche bag in my opinion, this just reinforces my notion.
I like how frequently there are HS tournaments going on. Is that common in all e-sports?
Happy to see Undertaker put down. Unfortunately, now people are just making tons of "Nerf Petitions" because they think that they can get anything nerfed. It's almost as bad as those insane Undertaker Huntard starts. You won't be missed, Underbalanced.
Well now they've done it.
If you learn anything in marketing, is never to give the consumers ideas of what you can do for them, if you aren't planning on doing it.
Otherwise, they demand it.
Now people will riot that we won't be getting awesome events every few months with free packs and content and stuff.
Now you've done it, Blizzard!
Would it have killed them to wait until the season was over?
Am I the only one disappointed about Lunar New Year Festival emotes being only available in Asia?
Question!, what happens if i dont patch it?, it will cause a crash in the game? cause i still have the +1+1 undertaker and the other people will have the +1
Im playing right now and my undertaker still have +1 +1 so i dont understand what will happen if i play against a dude that have the +1
