Noxious and TheChiv are back with another episode of Mekkatorque's Workshop! This week's theme is Mage cards which cost 5 mana, a current void in the Mage class.
Mekkatorque's Workshop is a show centered around the presentation of new card concepts. Every week, a theme is chosen around which a set of cards will be designed and presented during the show.

Community Spotlight: City Cards
This is a fan creation and is not official cards which are coming into the game. Just for fun!
We're already seeing some great new threads in the Fan Creations forum we put up this week! RevutionaryArtillery has created some unique card concepts that revolve around various cities in Warcraft. Cities are cards which have no attack value and have a unique card interactions. What do you think?
New Patching Method
You may have noticed a download today when you started up your Hearthstone client and got into the game. This added the January Card Back to the client.

Missing Friends Issue
If your friends list appears blank in-game, you're not the only one. If you do have this problem, you respond to the thread on the official forums.

Posted Jan 22, 2015 (GvG Launch)What if the cities can't be silenced, can't be buffed, can't be stealthed, can't be transformed, and can't be stolen, and they are even more powerful but take up 2 minion spaces on the board, so it's a new type of card altogether?

Posted Jan 22, 2015 (GvG Launch)Fantastic card ideas. It's what is desperately needed for the next expansion additions. By that I mean New rules, as in new key words such as "City" or "Enhancement"(mtg) and what not. Honestly I don't know what we would get from a new expansion adding more or less of what already exists, just like GvG did, if you look at it now retrospect and with an open mind.
Well in short; we don't need more cards per say, we need more rules and keywords. So those cards would be a step in the right way.

Posted Jan 21, 2015 (GvG Launch)I'd love cards like the cities, only if they cost less mana. More cards like doomsayer make the game interesting and more than just "oh well my 2/3 eats your 2/2 now" type interractions.
Things like imp master, patient assassin, doomsayer, ancient watcher are all really weird build-around guys. I like that and cities are a similarly cool idea.
Sadly there's cards like kodo, crazed alchemist, cabal shadow priest (lol) and the "flip a minion's attack and health" spare parts that just blow these city cards out really really bad...
