Reckless Experimenter Nerf Coming June 3
Reckless Experimenter will be receiving a change in the upcoming card buff patch on June 3rd. Blizzard did not originally realize that SN1P-SN4P had a negative interaction with the card. See the card and text change below.
Added Text: "Cost can't be reduced below 1"
The card will be disenchantable for full value starting June 3, after the patch releases. Bravo for the quick fix, Blizzard!
Quote from Chris SierraHey Folks,
After the announcement of the Rise of the Mech update, we became aware of an interaction between SN1P-SN4P and Reckless Experimenter that allows for an early-game infinite damage combo in Priest. As a result of this, we’ve opted to make a change to Reckless Experimenter to go along with the 14.4 patch (scheduled to release June 3) so this combo is no longer possible. We’re also aware of some interactions that SN1P-SN4P creates in Wild when played alongside multiple copies of Mechwarper. We’ll be keeping a close eye on how that plays out over the following weeks. Here is how the card now reads (updated card asset here):
Reckless Experimenter – Deathrattle minions you play cost (3) less, but die at end of turn. (Cost can’t be reduced below 1.)
Once the change to Reckless Experimenter is live, you will be able to disenchant it for its full Arcane Dust value for two weeks.
Mecha'thun Priest is a thing, and the nerf won't even affect the combo.
Yes, but is the only deck where she can be used, and frankly it's quite a boring deck, not even that competive.
Before you could at least consider playing it in a quest priest and comboing with loot hoarder, devilsaur, voodoo doll and others, now is utterly trash
What in the hell is going on at Blizzard HQ. Honestly, they seem like they don't have a clue what they're doing at the minute.
So wait.
They didn't even realize the interaction?!?
Seriously?!?
I'm baffled by this as much as you are. I guess some people are right, that the devs don't test all possible interactions when implementing new cards.
After all of those nerf waves in the last couple of months, I can agree that they just think about a card that would look cool and just release it, never testing it.. sad
So whats the problem ? Its not like u can give it charge to attack right ? Can someone explain me whats so wrong?
If a Mech sticks, it' kinda like charge
The Repeatable playable cards go back to their original costs with the copies.
Every mana off counts,
edit: even if it is one time only
nice save bro
I am fine with it, it's a nerf to a mana cheating card.. that constricts design space this card was never used outside of Mechathun combo (which isn't changed due to this change)
snip snap is suppoused to be a strong card to really spice up the meta , the combo with this card would be insane, priest would just OTK you early game by playing mechs.. you don't even need to play "the combo" good thing this was adressed before it became a problem it shows that blizzard REALLY started looking at the community feedback.
very good job blizzard
I suppose "Dreadsteeding" is an official term now at this point
I just wish it was because of a much more interesting card instead of Harvest Golem on roids
Clunky wording, as often happens nowadays uh?
"Deathrattle minions you play cost (3) less, but not less than (1). They die at end of turn."
Yeah, putting the restriction in parentheses makes it look like reminder text for a game rule instead of something specific to this card. Team 5 really needs a better technical writer on staff. (And the person who refuses to carry over expansion keywords needs a demotion.)
Oh thank god that would’ve been a disaster lol
Arbitrary distinction to make. Al’Akir was always fine. So was Corpsetaker
