The Dalaran Heist - Adventure Launches May 16
Blizzard has announced new details on the upcoming Great Dalaran Heist adventure.
- Launches May 16!
- Wings cost 700 gold each, first is free. Whole adventure should be $20 USD.
- Like Dungeon Run and Monster Hunt in format but loads of more content / features.
- Challenge defenders of Dalaran that sit between you and your job.
- The second chapter can be purchased right away after completing the free first chapter.
- The chapters after 1 & 2 will be unlocked on a weekly basis.
- Hero Powers get unlocked through mini-quests such as Freeze 30 minions or Draw 100 cards.
- You can remove cards from your deck at a Dalaran Tavern during your run as well as modify your deck with special gold coins.
- Each wing has a special passive effect active. Anomaly mode makes these randomized.
Next week, on May 14 & 15, there will be a special event where some pros get to play the adventure early.

- The Violet Hold - Imprisoned Minions, join the fight later

I was hoping about Ulduar...
It is speculated that ulduar is the2nd expansion this year
Miss expansions like Naxx and Black Mountain when we actually got some really great exclusive cards and not useless free legendaries like Zayle or whatever his name is :/.
At least they compensate by making the 2nd wing available at launch. I'm okay with that. If one of my favourite streamers play it at the vent, I might actually consider watching because it seems like the possibility of drafting cards in this adventure is pretty endless.
Overall, I'm very much looking forward to playing it.
So what exactly this adventure gives ? I dont see any new cards ? WTF?
Only "old" packs from Rise of Shadow...
Source ? Should be 28 pack's to be worth it... Solo pure rng based content aint funny...
Source is a Blizzard site. 3 packs Rise of Shadow per wing and on last one golden classic pack and golden Zayle (no one know, how it will be work).
Entertainment I guess? You know, like going to watch a movie?
Very cool
Or just not buy it. I mean there are plenty of options out there.
we have to complete all chapters in order to get the golden classic pack right?
Hello, guys
Is there a preorder for 20$ avaliable already? (thought we would get a Golden Zalaye card only if we preorder with $$$...)
Or do we have to wait till it launches at May 16-th?
Couldn't find this item in the Blizzard shop
Thanks for your feedback!
P.S. is Blink Fox ok to be my waifu?..
Not making the mistake this time to watch what the pro players get to do before everybody else. I really don't like that policy.
I suppose it does ruin some of the surprise factor. However, I'll probably be watching for two reasons: 1) To get at least somewhat of an idea of what the better customization choices will be, so I can complete the content and then worry about trying other, more fun but perhaps less effective, choices; and 2) They might only have access to the first and second wings anyways, so while the surprise is somewhat spoiled, it's not completely gone.
I think it's less harmful than pros being able to play a new expansion a few days early, because as limited as their playtime might be in comparison to the expansion's life, their influence shapes the meta disproportionately. We don't need metas settling any faster than they do.
Well, I hoped you are right, but will still try to avoid any spoilers. I don't see why the expansion spoilers should be worse - this is solo player content with the whole point being playing it through, so I think it is an even bigger reason to not give it away in advance. Maybe it is interesting for those who netdeck solo player decks :-P
I remember a time when we got payed adventures where you would gain new cards instead of an expansion - man that was a time to be alive. Activision sure made it so Blizzard could earn money, but at what cost? The players cost.
Still looking forward to it - got 14k gold so don't mind spending them on adventures, but I hope it is not a trend they will stay with.
Ah yes, the good old days where we bought an adventure that barely changed the meta and that was all the new cards we got in 8 months (and very little chance of nerfs either). What a time to be alive.
Barely changed the meta? I get that with an expansion we get more cards than from adventures, but i think you are totally bias, saying that adventure cards barely change the meta.
Early HS adventures dictated the meta with the likes of Emperor Thaurissan and Grim Patron (until the nerf of patron warrior) from Blackrock Mountain or Sludge Belcher and Loatheb from Naxxramas (and these are just some examples of many strong cards). New expansions also gave us strong cards, like Barnes or Reno Jackson , who had a whole meta revolve around him. All these cards would still be played and actually strong in todays meta, if they weren't rotated.
And yes, I think that adventures were healthy to the game, giving all the cards to players with different budgets, letting you save gold for the packs from the following expansion.
If just the value were a bit higher.... 2800 gold for 12 ROS packs and a golden classic pack and some probably non-competitive legendary seems a bit high.... :/
(I know one pays extra for the fun, and hell did I enjoy the previous solo content, but it still feels bad for F2P players)
