BlizzCon 2014 Hearthstone Groups
Blizzard announced the groups for BlizzCon! Groups will begin to be played out on November 2nd and 3rd, and will be cast by Artosis, Frodan, and Azael, featuring additional commentary by Realz and Ben Brode.

Soon, 16 of the most skilled card-slingers from all over the world will gather together to duel for a treasure trove of $250,000. Players from the Americas, Europe, China, Korea, and Taiwan have been placed in four different groups, with each player vying for a spot within the Top 8 finalists!
The Hearthstone World Championship begins on November 2nd and 3rd at 10:00 a.m. PST at ESL’s Burbank Studio. Community casters Dan “Artosis” Stemkoski, Dan “Frodan” Chou and Isaac “Azael” Cummings-Bentley will join Hearthstone balance designer Ryan “Realz” Masterson and Senior Game Designer Ben Brode in breaking down all of the card-slinging action live on the official PlayHearthstone Twitch. Americas Championship Host Rachel “Seltzer” Quirico will once more take up her microphone and interview the players as the matches unfold.

This is a championship tournament.

EDIT: I found my answer via Blizzard: "The groups were created entirely at random. Moreover, with two players advancing from each group, it's absolutely possible that both StrifeCro and Kolento will advance."

I guess the silver lining is that we at least get to see them clash in the tournament, instead of them possibly not playing eachother at all?

Posted Oct 23, 2014 (Naxx Launch)This tournament (as henway mentions) is on Twitch. It is only the first portion of the tournament - I believe they'll play until they have four finalists. The following tournament is on various streams the following weekend (in various languages) during BlizzCon and is free at BlizzCon.com. In the past, I think the free tournament streams have been LQ, so if you want HD, you might want to catch a Twitch stream or get the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket.

Posted Oct 23, 2014 (Naxx Launch)I'd like to see Numberguy or Greensheep advance because they are the youngest two in the tournament. However, I'd bet on Kolento because he transitioned from Ladder to Tournament play better than I anticipated.
