The legendary will only see some play if hunter gets some powerfull deathrattle mechs this expansion
Mecha'thun
EDIT: Not saying it’ll be good with this, just throwing the idea out there.
DOUBLE EDIT: Derp.
Won't work. Mecha'thun would itself still be alive, so the deathrattle wouldn't trigger.
It could work with goblin prank, Oblivitron + Mecha'thun + 2 goblin pranks as your last 4 cards (and no other minions on board and deck), obliviton into goblin prank into goblin prank on the mecha'thun, at the end of the turn the oblivitron dies first cause of the first goblin prank, mecha'thun dies after, and your opponent dies. Like Mecha'thun priest, you need to do the correct order, and it will work
You do realize Oblivitron doesn't die until the end of the turn and therefore you cannot cast Goblin Prank on Mecha'thun, right?
yes yes, after i wrote all of this, and that you acttually can play 2 glavanizers to reduce the cost of your mecha'thun and just make the combo with an 8 mana mecha'thun and a goblin prank as your last 2 cards whit current cards on standar....which nobody is playing...again, my bad
Hot chunks of junk, you’re right! Unless Hunter gets a mech that has Deathrattle “kill everything twice.” Which they won’t.
They could give it rush at least
Houndmaster Shaw
But really though, it's a mech. So realistically, it will always have rush given the sheer amount of Magnetic support for hunter.
That would stat the death rattle effect at about 2 cost. Rush would make this card insane.
Do not underestimate the powerlevel of a 0 mana card. Almost all of them tend to be somewhat playable or at least decent. You can play them with Auctioneer to draw and stall until mechathun, steal it, or combine it for devestating shadow madness+divine favor+topsy/inner fire combos.
I feel like hunter is going to get a mechanic that will add copies of a minion to there hand. So this deathrattle will summon another copy of this and trigger multiple times. If you could get 4 copies off of one deathrattle it’s a slightly better spell stone. They lose beast tag but gain 1 health.
Yep, but that's par for the course in Wild. I mean, we already have N'Zoth and the Warlock DK, which have stronger turns on 10 mana. When Umbra came out, everyone freaked out about Umbra + Sylvannas, but that barely saw play in wild.
Mech/Deathrattle hunter may still be a thing after rotation, but it'll be because of the other cards, not this card, that it works. But this card would be in the deck.
It's not a true expansion without an unplayable hunter legendary.
So Kobolds wasn't a true expansion?
The Runespear , Dragon Soul and Temporus , i know those are not hunter legendaries, but, are the only 3 legendaries that didn't see any play, even The Darkness saw some ladder and tournaments while Razakus Rambo Priest was a thing.
Oblivitron is way under-stats for a legendary (at 6 with the effect it should be 5/5 or 6/4 minimum), but I kind of see some interesting uses for it. While it's aimed at Mech, maybe this could make cards like Cybertech Chip work for a deathrattle beast/mech deck, relying on both tribes, and cards like Revenge of the Wild , Master's Call , Flark's Boom-Zookaand Zul'jin to aid in Mech generation and board clear. Probably not tier 1, but interesting at least. With some more deathrattle and mech support, I think it's worth a chance. We will see in the coming weeks
If it had magnetic this card would actually be OP. Seems so difficult to balance a card like this. Especially with the mech tag.
Disappointing...
All these Hunter Mecha'thun comments..
Key ingredients for a Mecha'thun decks is extremely good card draw, very good ways of stalling your opponent, and easy ways to quickly empty your hand - Card draws and stalling is not a Hunters strong suit
The Mecha'thuns deathrattle won't trigger properly either, as it itself is still present on the board..
