New Card Revealed - Swampqueen Hagatha
A new shaman legendary has been revealed.
Upon playing this card, you will receive two discover interfaces containing Shaman spells. Choose one from each selection and then when you play the generated minion that was added to your hand, it will also play those spells! You get to choose the targets for the cast spells.
No you're right. Hagatha's is more consistent but they both generate infinite value.
Shaman has some control tools even without knowing what cards are coming. Hagatha (hero) will be the only infinite value generator in Standard. Hagatha's Scheme is good. Shudderwock is good. Swampqueen is potentially good with the right support in a control deck. Actually Shaman has a bunch of Raven cards that could shine in control in a clean slate meta.
I would argue Dr. Boom's hero card is infinite value as well, more so since there's no prior condition to use it.
Lobot's reaction:
As it's a battlecry, this is about the only way to cast a spell against Counterspell. *grins evilly*
Why IS Hagatha's pot boiling over in that card?? I wanted to make that happen so badly on the witchwood gameboard, and NOW she starts cooking?
Hagatha’s entrance music is so incredibly spooky :0 I love it
Hagatha seems to have had a mentor named Kazakus ...
Seems good, especially for shaman with cards like Murmuring Elemental and ofcourse Shudderwock
But why isn't this an elemental, it obviously looks like one... kinda ;-)
Playing the Horror on turn 8 can be good, but having something like that before turn 7/8 would be too good.
Then even If you manage to mix just one great spell, the Horror still remains an effective tempo play and a good battlecry memorized by Shudderwock.
On the other hand Swampqueen Hagatha is bad tempo than the Horror(because of the stats) and a roll of dice for Shudderwock.
A great card I think! And Yes... I still believe in Shudderwock!
This won't work. Rain of Toads has Overload.
Rain of Toads Overloads for 3, this Hagatha costs 7 and its turn 10, so it is playable.
If anybody missed it:
The first choice is random.
So the second choice won’t have targeted spells if your first choice was targeted.
What are you even talking about? Both the spells are random, so they can both be targeted, both be untargeted or one of each.
No, they are not. Peter Whalen posted that on his twitter account:

You are correct, my bad.
Swamp King Dred: my dear love
Feels like the success of this card is predicated on being able to play it as early as possible, hopefully highroll the spells, and then get out the Horror before having to wait too long on Shudderwock. Playing the Horror's not a problem. It's the 7 mana 5/5: Do nothing that's the problem. So you need a deck that can clear the board before you play Hagatha or have some taunts up or have some heals ready. Turn 9 Rain of Toads sets up for Hagatha on 10. If you can stabilize after playing Hagatha you could be in a really good position.
I really want to play Hex Lord Malacrass too and he's 8 mana 5/5: Do nothing. Kalecgos seems to be setting Mage up for control, which Malacrass fits into, so it's a similar setup: Hagatha setting up Shudderwock and Malacrass setting up Kalecgos. Hell maybe someone will even make Dr. Morrigan into Arch-Villian Rafaam work! Play Rafaam, Morrigan trades, recruit Gruul (or Chameleos).
What high cost understatted minions that don't affect the board have seen play before? Has there ever been one? Ceding tempo/the board is a really difficult thing to pull off. At least it has been in the 1.5 years I've been playing. Maybe Warrior can best pull it off with Brawl. Or Warlock with Nether. I guess you could use Hagatha's Scheme to stabilize after Hagatha or clear the board so you can play her next turn.
I can't think of any other cards like this that have ever seen play......
ancient of lore.
Oh yeah perfect example! Before the nerf of course.
