Ben Brode's Second Dinner Funded, New Office, Working On Marvel Title
In a video update today, Ben Brode alongside Hamilton Chu, Yong Woo, Jomaro Kindred, and Michael Schweitzer announced that Second Dinner is funded and ready to hire a team! For their first title they're partnering with Marvel.
They're currently looking for a Unity Client Engineer and a Technical Artist.
They got investment from NetEase - no thanks. Brode had potential when he broke free from Blizzard but accepting investment from a company like NetEase is questionable.
NetEase? No thanks, it will be another purely dO yOu GuYs NoT hAvE pHoNeS? game. We have really enough of them already, so sorry but NO. If it's actually a good game and comes out on a real gaming platform (pc, console), then we can talk, but as it seems more and more it will be a pure phone-game. No thanks!
why are we still talking about this guy??? hearthstone is a much better game without him.
thank god he left
Now you're just asking for a fight bucko.
Might Brode have been an iluminati sacrifice to please the massesuntil the next hit?
ANSWER ME BLI$$ARD!
before I get bashed I was joking :|
Good Luck Ben
Marvel, ugh. I'm not going to play a game based on Marxist comic books.
Contrary to popular belief, money does not grow on trees. Funds have to come from somewhere, and they're coming from Marvel. I highly doubt that Marvel would particularly enjoy them making a game based on DC. Just a doubt.
I am so confused, how the shit are marvel comics Marxist?
They are fictional artist made comic books...
Ben Brode should definitely rap in the next announcement!
So Iksar or Mike Donais do an interview about the state of the game and even hinting at upcoming changes and hearthpwn doesn't run it. But Ben Brode's new game is hearthstone news worthy? I miss Brode as much as the next but this isn't what hearthpwn is supposed to be for. I love this site as its where I want to go to get all my hearthstone news. I dislike it when the devs have something to say and I can't find it here.
Like iksar having a reddit ama where he basically hinted at druid and odd pally changes. Or Mike Donais for the changes before that on I believe PC gamer or some such site? They might not be as popular but they still are a couple of the main faces we have now. Don't ignore them.
You want them to talk more about a broken game that needs to limp along till April and hope that it gets better? At this point it's doubtful they can ever right the ship and design of the game without some radical changes. Of course that is not what will happen because the powers that be love all the money coming in from the mobile players that couldn't give a rats ass about balance.
Give us the link please.
we might do something or we might not is exactly the kind of news i want. If the devs are thinking of changing something about the game and are willing to tell us about it, i want to see it here.
I don't think it's bad that hearthpwn runs an article for SD, only begrudge them for finding this newsworthy, but Iksar and Donais are not.
the Iksar interview/ama was covered by Hearthstone Topdecks here.
And Mike Donais interview on Newsweek.com about Dealing with Problematic Cards (giggling was at the forefront of everyone's mind at the time)
Hearthpwn never mentioned either of these things having taken place to my knowledge. And the Iksar one was most enlightening given the most recent balance changes happened only days afterward.
Where can I find this interview, I cant find it anywhere
Hey at least we dont have Valuetown anymore.
So happy to see Brode after a long time!
This makes me so happy and sad simultaneously.
Happy: look how much humour and excitement Brode can create just by doing a simple (probably mostly) unscripted, off the cuff vlog-style update, despite the fact that this update actually gives hardly any hard information.
Sad: I've been reminded that we don't have Brode any more.
marvel game....when will these nerds learn...corporations don't care about them. make your own game or hey why not just copy another company's games like your former employer did for every game they made. Won't play it or even look at it...Marvel....good luck.. 8 year-olds dude 8 year-olds..
You do realize that the Second Dinner depends on Marvel right now because it’s funded by Marvel right? No offence but you seem like an 8-year old who doesn’t understeand how society works. Even if Marvel didn’t care about them, which, honestly, they probably only care about them to the extent that they will make Marvel money, who gives a damn? They are getting paid by Marvel.
