Basically this.
Over the course of a game, Paladin has enough self heal that you can count on this to be active very consistently. (can't be said for Pearl Spellstone, btw, because for that one you need to have it in your hand before the healing happens)
Where I believe this card fails is this: I don't believe that there's enough self-hurting and healing in the class to be able to get this out early enough consistently where it could put the pressure on opposing decks (mostly Control/Combo) similar to what Mountain Giant does for Warlock.
Edit: Thekal is out, but I'd still say the same. It would probably be t6 earliest, realistic best case scenario, that you get this to work. More likely t7, t8. By that time this may not be impactful enough. We'll see.
This card is so good against aggro in Reno Paladin! (Especially T7 with Zola.)
Holy light!
Pretty good card since it works on minion heals too. I'm not sure if its good but you could run Wild Pyromancer to force damage on your minions and Fungal Enchanter or Darkscale Healer to heal them back up. If they add an even version of Fungal or Darkscale in this set then even pally can do the same but with a board of Silver hands that have been adapted by Lightfused Stegodon same idea could also apply in a murloc deck with Coldlight Seer also could work with the Loa Spirit of the Tiger if you play a spell and the Loa procs giving you an extra minon then the Pyromancer procs dealing damage to everything and then you can heal your entire board plus the extra loa minion. Its not an entirely likely scenario but all those cards are pretty useful in paladin decks anyway so it wouldn't be like you were adding them just for the one combo.
I like where Pally is heading. Now let us have some hp gain cards plz
Blizzard, you've been pushing the Control Healadin since Knights of the Frozen throne, but being my favorite deck I can't play it without a win condition. Please give us a card that utilizes health gained, so we can finally play it.
They just did with this card..I would call an 8/8 with taunt for 4 mana a win condition..Otherwise you are asking for a broken combo deck or unavoidable win condition which we don't need.
Zilliax alone will give you 6 Health and than you just need a Truesilver or basically anything at that point. Wont be to hard to do. This will make it into Standard play.
Healadin new meta?
Playing all those spells isn't the only way to get it on board. But yes in most cases that's true.
Edit: i was more leaning towards keeping these card until you've healed for 10 to get 2 8/8 because they would be in a control deck so holding on to them might be better just for the value of course depending on circumstances.
My nerf senses are tingling. I really feel like this card is gonna get a lot of hate
Clearly Blizzard pushing a heal-a-din archetype. The problem right now with control paladin is that it lacks some of the late-game win conditions of, say, Warlock. I can outlast some aggro or tempo decks (maybe), but how does it stack up against other control decks? It doesn't have the huge tempo swings, massive value or stuff to push damage like other control decks (yet).
They did print that Cathedral Gargoyle last set, so you have to wonder if Paladin is getting a godly dragon that can help them out here this set.
Edit: Somehow I messed up.
Or you forgot to read.
This is a great card for control Paladin decks. That healing is so easy to do in Paladin decks designed for the long game.
Looks pretty good! Im going to play this for sure in my wild reno pally deck.
4 mana 8/8... Now that is next level shit... but condition is somewhat hard for Paladin...
It's a shame that Blackguard doesn't work this way.
Wouldn't make that much difference tbh, unless you are willing to cast Holy Light or LoH on a minion, there is not a lot of class support to healing minions. We will need some efficient healing to make this archetype work, but they seem to be going for broke with this expansion so it wouldn't surprise me that much.
you can Play fungal enchanter
