Hearthstone BlizzCon 2018 Rewards Announced - Card Back & 10 Card Packs
We're not only getting a card back this year but also cards we can actually play with in-game! Unfortunately though the generosity does not include Boomsday Project packs.
- One BlizzCon 2018 Card Back.
- 10 Hearthstone Packs - 2 each of Classic, Un'Goro, Frozen Throne, Kobolds, and Witchwood
The Virtual Ticket is now available through the Blizzard Store. It can be purchased for $50 USD.
The card back reminds me of Harbinger Celestia. I'm sad I won't be getting it, it looks really good.
If you bought the Virtual Ticket for the rewards, and are now upset, then shame on you. Anyone could go look at the past and see that at most you were looking at a cardback, perhaps a legendary that everyone ends up getting (Marin & ETC), or some other insignificant reward.
To have the expectation of anything at time of purchase, when they showed nothing other than TBD / TBA is fairly foolish. Every year it is the same process with them selling tickets early in the year, and right before the event releasing the free content to attendees and subscribers. Obviously the extra SWAG is there to entice additional viewers to purchase the ticket. If you bought it prior to and are not happy with the bonuses, you should have waited and you took that risk. If you waited and didn't buy until now, at least you can say screw that and move on.
To be fair though, 10-Packs is actual product that can be used for worst case 400 dust. Most of the other rewards are cosmetic at best if you are even into that kind of thing.
Yes and Yes
You are paying $10 more for for the Virtual Ticket. The bonus items they give you for that ticket are inconsequential to that cost. You are not owed any bonus at all to be perfectly honest.
The Blizzcon Virtual ticket was $39.99 in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. It received a $10 bump after 5 years with no increase. Yes that is more than inflation but we do not know how much more Direct TV is charging blizzard to broadcast this year, and how much more Blizzard is putting into the broadcast.
If you are one of those people who feel that the virtual ticket is just card back and 10 pack bundle they have to pay $50 for then the virtual ticket isn't for you.
=D13=
I'm not buying the eticket either way, because I really think that price is ridiculous, but do you need the ticket to hear the Hearthstone expansion announcement? I know you only need the ticket for certain events...not sure if that was one of them. If not, when is it generally available to the rest of us schmucks. :P
You, sir, are incredibly entitled. It's part of the extras. You pay 10 bucks more for the whole show, not the goodies. Blame them for raising their prices, not because the package isn't big enough for your whiny ass. Like, what the fuck is wrong with you guys.
So, my earlier comment is in the negatives. Fair enough. But let me ask my peers this. Blizzcon is the premier event in the calendar. The reward is packs and a back. Is that epic enough? Even if they're offered as extras for the main content.
I think it's lazy as these are common currency. Look at the how great ETC was and he's languishing in Wild. Marin last year was a good effort too.
My gripe is that the effort doesn't match the magnitude of the event. I think Boomsday gave eight packs for free? Blizzard missed a chance here I think to add something really unique like they've done before.

Isn't the cardback the unique touch? Marin is hardly unique, ETC definitely was, though.
I didn’t get the card packs?
Oh really, so this year is $10 better because of the packs ? You do realise that we are paying $10 more anyway ? So for those who don't care about the packs, they just end up paying more for something useless (for example, I've got all the cards already so packs are useless, I got plenty of dust as well)
Overall, I will still buy it because I am a collector but this is still a ripoff. The card back isn't as good as it seems when you see it in game.. the texture looks poor without any special animation from the star.
I am disappointed but I gotta suck it up. Although I will say that I hope people won't buy it so blizzard finally gives something good next time, even though I will buy it myself.
For everyone who things that a card back and 10 card packs is too little ... here is what we got every year with the virtual ticket for Hearthstone... I would consider this year to be at least $10 better because of the packs.

So far the virtual ticket gets me the following... ... and since this is Blizzcon not Hearthcon or WoWcon I'm ok with it.

- access to additional blizzcon videos

STARCRAFT II

I would totally agree with you if it wasn’t for the fact that they were buying the ticket and not the packs
Blizzcon virtual ticket used to feel like it was worth something other than getting a load of useless toot to ebay.
Whoever put this 'pack' together needs to get a new labrador.
What was in it before then? I've always had the impression that the virtual ticket was interesting only for superfans, not for the average player.
You're right, tournament mode doesn't exist therefore these cards can't be used in a tournament mode. It does have a lot to do with being a bad deal though. The same community that knocks Artifact for having a 20 dollar entry fee is the same community spending 50 dollars for a glorified card back and 10 packs of cards.
I got the card back, but no packs?
I contacted blizz support. They are looking into it.
“We're checking into this right now Chris :) Sometimes when these mass rewards go out, it takes a little while for them to hit every account ^KAL”
Ehh I don't know, the early access to the legendary and a golden one at that was a pretty nice reward. While it's not a terrible reward this year, the jump in price for a virtual ticket keeps it as a no purchase for me. They were better off doing different packages like 30$ for the virt ticket and in game rewards for specific title or 50$ for all game rewards.
I don't know why everyone think that bonus in game loots are the reason for price of the virtual ticket. This is more like complementary to the tickets. 10 packs and card back are not impressive, but this is just bonus. And btw no one is forcing you to buy this... neither you will lose something if you don't do it. Of course if you dont collect card backs for ridiculous price by some reason.
