Vote For Your Favourite Community Created Masters of Metal
It's time once again to vote for a winner in a card design competition. This week, we required you to design a card that exists to directly support mechs.
Competition-Specific Restrictions:
- You must make a minion that exists to directly support Mechs. The minion cannot be a Mech itself.
- The benefit is FOR the Mechs, not FROM the Mechs. Cards like Goblin Blastmage and Tinkertown Technician do not count, and we're not looking for indirect methods either (like Gazlowe or Giggling Inventor).
- The only existing example is Fireworks Tech!
This Week's Finalists
Out of 70 entries, we've narrowed it down to 8 of the community's favourites. Check out the finalists below and then head on over to the final poll to vote, vote, vote! Tokens, as usual, can be viewed in the voting thread.

The best one is clearly Shredder Pilot. Nice mechanic and very cool flavor.
Good points guys. I'll edit my original answer. :-)
Hmm the only cards that I truly like are Magnetiser and Demolition Expert. The other cards just seem too OP..
Very nice ideas behind most of the cards. Good luck to everyone! :)
Is Mastermind Rocky suposed to be a reference to Rocket the Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy?
Dr. Boom is broken
Good question.
A few things:
Shredder Pilot: I think the wording is quite odd. There aren't any texts in Hearthstone that describes motions, so it should be worded Battlecry: Give a mech +2/+3. Deathrattle: Resummon this minion.Yeah, pretty much what Kwakdizzle and Wailer said.I think Kipey, Light converter is borderline broken. It priest can get a few mechs to stick on the board Circle of Healing and Divine Hymn would give all your mechs +10 health for two mana - just to give an example. Hell, +6 health for divine hymn alone is a preeetty strong play.
It's a flavor thing. Like how Power Overwhelming refers to dying "horribly." I'd give it a pass for nice flavor and it's something that Blizzard could and have done.
More than a flavour thing, I'd say it's a mechanic that doesn't exist in the game. When the Shredder Pilot climbs the Mech, he disappears, but doesn't die. So, it can be worded like the creator wants.
I just realized that it doesn't give the mech a deathrattle, which is feasibly the only way that when the mech dies, the minion comes back out. Without deathrattle, minions don't do anything after they die by definition. As it stands now, it's a minion that functions like has magnetic (a fusing battlecry, essentially) and gives a mech a deathrattle, but none of that is actually the case. Instead of introducing concepts that don't and shouldn't exist due to inconsistency with existing keywords, this could probably have been a spell buff with the flavour of boarding a mech but then it wouldn't have been valid for the competition, so I see why this was done.
Cool concept and flavour, but too cumbersome and infeasible to get my vote.
Yeah, it should've been a spell, just like Spikeridged Steed (altough that would prevent it from being played in an empty board).
On the other hand, I think the summon effect would be a Deathrattle, even if the card doesn't specify it. Again, Spikeridged Steed is an example of that.
Good point! Didn't realize Spikeridged Steed has a similar wording. That already makes the card look much better in my eyes.
Good luck with your entry :)
Pretty much what everyone said. I used this wording because it's more flavorful and Blizzard already did it with Spikeridged Steed. I couldn't use Magnetic because the Pilot isn't a Mech and because it would imply that it would indefinitely summon itself instead of only being resummoned when the Mech dies.
Perhaps I should have made it a 2mana 2/1 for extra flavor with Piloted Shredder.
Shredder Pilot isn't 2 mana.
Literally unplayable.
3 mana 4/6 unplayable? What?
r/woooosh
I don't know if you are joking, but you're basically saying that Spikeridged Steed is a 6 mana 2/6.
It's a joke about Piloted Shredder, which drops a 2-mana minion upon death. The Deathrattle implies that's the pilot jumping out of the wrecked robot, hence a 2-mana Shredder Pilot.
I don't understand how people still aren't getting the "literally unplayable" joke. I even have downvotes on my comment. Fucking how.
