This card has no strategy except in zoo as the card you draw will always be the right most card
In other words, bad RNG will ultimately made you lose the game
On the other hand, trying to play this as a late game card with only low cost cards in deck would means the entire deck is reliant on one card out of 30.
again you will still only be able to cast one of those as it will be no longer the right most card after you draw again.
In addition, by having Ravencaller in the deck and if you are trying to pull off a combo, that would be leaving your deck vulnerable to less 3-drop. As I say, the decent stat would only be useful for zoo
How would it combo with Rhonin? The mana cost on him alone is to high to combo same turn without coin and you would draw before each Arcane Missile making them entirely unable to proc the effect..
This is good. Imagine you almost out of card on hand as burn mage. Top deck this and play the right most card then casts spell after spell. You get the effect instantly with a body too so it is a plus compare to Aluneth. In the normal case when you draw 2 cards with it (which is very easy to do unless the majority of your cards costs more than 4) , you get a Arcane Intellect with a 2/4 body or it is just a better than Acolyte of Pain with soft taunt. Worst case: you draw 1 card with it and it is a better Gnomish Inventor (1 mana less). May be not as good as Aluneth for the current burn Mage but when it rotates out, this will have a better place.
Great with cards that make cheap cards. Firefly, Spare Parts, Flame Geyser, Steam Surger, Ronin?, Ghastly Conjurer, Raven Caller, 6Mana Mukla, and Feral Gibberer. But is it worth building around?
In theory, multiple card draws are definitely good with this Stargazer Luna. But in reality, it can be rather inconsistent to play this, since you are being forced to play the right-most card while this is on board. It may restrict your options and card choices.
I can see some nice WIld synergies. A deck with 2x Frostbolts, Ice Lances, Forgotten Torches, Sorcerer's Apprentices, maybe even a Freezing Potion to get the ball rolling. Paired with Bloodmage Thalnos or maybe some other form of Spell Damage or new mechanic that gets added, Miracle Mage could become a new archetype. (This potential combo could be up to about 38 damage if you roll right)
This card is just too slow and I can't see it replacing any cards in the current tempo mage deck list. I'm open to the possibility that this card will be top tier when new cards are revealed for mage, but as of now, I just don't see it.
It would be kind of annoying to get this from a pack though if you have to wait till knc rotates out before it being viable. It's cool that blizzard is looking to the future, but unless more cards are printed in this set that boost the power level of Stargazer I think it's just pack filler.
Card is amazing in aggro Mage. I play murloc mage myself, I top deck a lot so this will be really good. Alternatively, primordial glyph puts the spell to the right of your hand, and same with echo cards. Archmage Arugal will be viable with this card as well, mainly thinking about murloc mage. Solid card, good potential, amazing in aggro. 3.5/5 stars
With this and the rogue legendary I kind of think this xpac will have something that puts certain cards in our deck perhaps? Seems like a pretty shitty legendary without trying to make up some reason you would want to play consecutive top decks or something.
I also think with the Witchwood and forward they're trying to lower the power of legendary cards greatly. A lot of the WW legendary have a similar feel of "eh, not bad when it works" to them.
Anyone else see the synergy with Archmage Arugal and Echo cards or is it just me? I do think this will be a good card, just not meta defying. Now Electra Stormsurge on the other hand...
Edit: Forgot to mention synergy with prmordial glyph as when you discover a card it's put to the right side of your hand. It basically gives all your spells obtained this way "draw a card".
Book of Specters + Arugal is much more value imo than Luna + Arugal.
Arugal + Luna only leaves you with 5 mana to work with to draw into minions and attempt to get value off of it. You're likely looking at a lategame 10 mana combo, and if you're not running a minion dominant deck with Luna in it then the chance to proc of Arugal goes down even more.
As for Luna + echo cards, I see it as maybe on par as a Tess Rogue dropping Face Collector on turn 10, or maybe a little worse or better roughly. My issue is that most of the echo cards range from terrible to mediocre. What echo card would you even want to be using in a competitive mage deck currently?
I think it won’t work. The thing is the text said “After you play” so I think Luna will trigger her effect after you have got your token, so now you have to play the card that you just draw in order to draw another (not the token)

2/5 Rating at best

Rhonin... Really?
So many downvotes for speaking the truth. What a nice and smart community

I can see it replacing Alluneth once it rotates out. I really think Blizz is looking towards the future with this xpac and WW.

Has "Miracle Mage" ever existed as an archetype?
Imagine getting a Vex Crow and this card to stick till the next turn when you have 10 mana and a deck full of low cost spells.
...and then you summon a Doomsayer.
A decently statted minion that will probably draw you 1-3 cards? How is this not good?

I do agree with you about Electra.
