When I play aggro mage I get countered by a paladin and when I play control deck I get countered by shudderwock shaman. It makes me laugh sometimes with the matchmaking :D
Thanks once again for the feature guys and as always congratulations to everyone else that also made the list. It's a pleasure and I have more decks coming up! ^^
Aggro is popular again? Time to play more taunt warrior
I was playing the Big/Recruit Hunter last week and it was so much fun right up until running into 15 aggro Paladin/Druid/Warlock/Mage decks on Saturday (all of the ones above) which simply overwhelmed me before I could even get to my end game. I went 6-2 Thursday, 8-0 Friday, and 0-15 Saturday with it before shifting to Spell Hunter and going 7-5 on Sunday.
=D13=
still nearly every deck I faced last night was almost a carbon copy control lock deck. I think they just don't want people knowing that control lock is really good as then the net deckers will all be running it, too. ha ha.
I do agree that standard could use a replacement soft counter tech.
However, control is supposed to generally lose to Shudderwok, even if a tech existed, for the very fact that it is an OTK deck. Consistent OTK decks are intended to counter super slow and super greedy decks by nature. There is no flaw in game design there. That is like saying that aggro decks countering an archtype that is weak to fast plays is a flaw in game design.
While 90-10 polarized match-ups aren't good for the game the 'holy trinity' of rock-paper-scissors card design will always be a thing due to the inherent nature of how each of the archtypes. You can't have an archtype that is full of strengths and no weaknesses to other archtypes. That would the actual definition of a flaw in game design.
If you didn't have OTKs to punish greedy decks that had bountiful anti-aggro tools then what exactly punishes greedy control decks (and don't say greedier control decks)?
I have counters for it, just not fool proof and in no way always works.
...Still though, it makes it all that bit sweeter when you do burn their shudderwok.
Glinderatu 4TW.
It's really a healthy meta at the moment. Of course some decks are annoying as hell (yes I'm talking to you Mr. Shudderwock) but there are lots of decks around that are good to play with.
7 top decks. 7 different classes. What a time to be alive. Considering quest warrior and combo priest are also valuable, it looks pretty good
Yeah, a lot of classes and types of decks. In my opinion this is the best meta :)
If anyone wants to try out something a bit different I'm finding the below really quite strong
Yay for Kingsbane Rogue tech in wild!
Can't wait to try the Blingtron Tog Druid when I feel in the missing gaps.
