Naxxramas Card Reveal: Loatheb
Earlier today, the PlayHearthstone twitter account tweeted a picture of a new legendary Naxxramas card, Loatheb. This brings the total number of confirmed Naxxramas cards to 15. For more information on the Curse of Naxxramas, head on over to our overview.
Loatheb Clarifications
Questions from the community have given us some clarifications on Loatheb. See below.
Quote from BlizzardGetting a lot of questions about Millhouse Manastorm / Loatheb interaction. Millhouse then Loatheb = 5 cost spells. Loatheb then Millhouse = 0 cost. - Ben Brode (Source)
If you Shadowstep [Loatheb] and play again, will spells cost 10 or still 5 more next turn?
10 - Ben Brode (Source)What about far sight [and a] 2 mana spell?
So they play Loatheb and on your turn you play Far Sight and get Windfury? Windfury costs 4. 2+5-3.
But [what] if Windfury had been drawn earlier, would it remember that it technically costs -1?
Yes, if it's far sight first, Loatheb makes it cost 4. - Ben Brode (Source)
Deck Spotlight: Crispy's Kitty
In tonight's Deck Spotlight, we're taking a look at Crispy's Kitty, a deck from Acebreaker's Crispy. The deck was featured earlier today on TheChiv's Deck Talk, where TheChiv and Jotto (a teammate of Crispy) discussed the deck in detail. If you've seen Stranglethorn Druid by Xzirez, you'll probably notice the two decks have some similarities, most notably the key element, Stranglethorn Tiger. Crispy's Kitty gets rid of the Azure Drakes in favor of better large minion removal (Big Game Hunter) and an easily accessible spell damage boost for taking out hordes of aggro (Bloodmage Thalnos).
The deck has a slightly steeper crafting cost than the Stranglethorn Druid clocking in at 6620 arcane dust, but you'll be happy you tried it! See below for the decklist and a video where Chiv and Jotto discuss Crispy's deck. Be sure to also check out the write-up on the deck to learn more about it if watching videos isn't your thing.

Loatheb became a staple in almost every deck.
lotheb hype!
As they wanted to show all cards before Naxx' release, we will probably see the last 15 remaining cards tomorrow. Very exycited, if there are more meta influencing cards like Loatheb!
That's a good point! I hope we see them tomorrow... or at least while we wait for the server to come back up :)
Thanks for the deck spotlight. It was very informative.
I can't wait to play Loatheb along with my Junior Brewmaster x2. No flamestrike for 3 turns!
well thats sad. Thank you very much though!
Thank you so much! I've been looking for them everywhere!
I can't believe their own channel jumps from the quarter-finals to the finals.
Is there a spell other than naturalize that can kill it on turn 5-6 after it is summoned?
Not easily, no. The only other one I can think of is Soulfire with some Spell Damage out.
Anyone have amaz druid deck he played in the finals?
I hate how this is going to work with Shadowstep
Well, guess there's a new target for more Shadowstep BS.
I'm actually more curious what Thaddius will be.
Unfortunately we don't have those semi-final games... Plus I'm not a big fan of the IEM Finals as it really seems like (if you don't know the results of the finals don't look)
Unfortunately we don't have those semi-final games... Plus I'm not a big fan of the IEM Finals as it really seems like Azeri is struggling just to be at par with Amaz (Don't get me wrong, Azeri is a great HS player). Congratulations Amaz on your big win!
Loving Loatheb so much! Strong, versatile, and elegant. It doesn't just affect Miracle and Freeze. It'll also be useful against Druids if you can preempt the Savage Force turn. It'll be a lot better in the hands of experienced players, because you need to be able to time it well to maximise its value.
I think it's also a fair card, not OP. It'll push against the OTK decks, which is probably a good thing, but it only slows them down 1 turn, and it's only 1 card in your deck, so it won't be so oppressive that it'd stop people from playing with burst combos. I do expect that it'll get played in almost every deck though, because it's so versatile.
Surely if ice mage and miracle players know of this card, they will surely find a way to counter it?
It's only OP for the miracle players. I mean, the card is pretty friggin sweet. It is a legendary, so people really need to keep that in mind. There are tons of Legendary cards that already have REALLY OP stats *cough* Tirion *cough*. I think it will be fine. People will learn how to play around it.
The amount of discussion I am seeing on the new card is impressive. Either it is perfect or completely OP haha. We'll find out soon enough I suppose.
*goes back to staring at clock*
There are 3 days left for naxx: Saturday,Sunday and Monday.
There are also 3 other unknown legendaries. Therefore,i hope they reveal them on the meantime.
