Card Nerfs
Six cards have received nerfs. They can be disenchanted for their full dust value for the next two weeks.
- Naga Sea Witch - Cost is now 8, up from 5.
- Spiteful Summoner - Cost is now 7, up from 6.
- Dark Pact - Now restores 4 Health, down from 8.
- Possessed Lackey - Cost is now 6, up from 5.
- Call to Arms - Cost is now 5, up from 4.
- Crystal Core - Effect now makes all minions in your deck 4/4, down from 5/5.
I must admit nice nerfs Blizz, Well done.
these nerfs were the most simple-minded changes I've seen in any game ever made, ever.
you call that dust? i kept a golden possessed lackey
I kept THREE golden possessed lackeys, 1.5 legendaries baby!
The only problem I see with the nerfs is that by nerfing Cubelock you also directly nerf Control Warlock, which is an benign (as in - not cancerous), balanced deck which I liked to play. Dealt nicely with super aggro. Guess it's back to control Priest, then.
Well, to be 100 % correct, benign tumor is still cancer but nonlethal.
Lackey, 5 Mana
"Cost 6 Mana if your Deck contains one or more Carnivorous Cube. Deathrattle: Recruit a Demon."
this kind of rework apparently costs too much brain-power
Still sad to see the nerf on Dark pact - unfair nerf just because cancer uses it as a tool of destruction. The bad guys wins this one I guess.
It was too much on-demand healing for the class that best uses life as a resource. Even if Control isn't operating on the same level of busted as Cube, they gotta at least attempt to preserve some aspect of class identity
whoever said these were good nerfs is so wrong...absolutely nothing changed. same classes dominate since their cards were so good they just ran multiple archetypes. maybe one day nerfs AND BUFFS will occur as well as reworks. other competitive games see multiple changes throughout a season. who the fuck cares if pro players have to adapt on the fly. they're PRO PLAYERS. if you get paid to play a video game you should be good enough to adapt to the changes. skill will be obvious far more with this route, instead of everyone playing similar decks and whoever gets lucky wins.
I'm sure we will see a very big change to the meta. Warlock cheating combo got nerf very hard and has much less heal. Before warlock basically an aggro killer, but now not so much. And for paladin, without call to arm, the even paladin is dead. Best paladin deck now is odd pally that has a very big weakness against 1 damage aoe such as swipe, defile, despicable dreadlord.
best paladin deck would be murloc, my friend
After a few matches I can say the changes have a significant impact on the meta. I have not seen any Even Pal (rank 4-5). Played 3 cubelocks with my tempo mage (2-1). Warlocks is not has powerful has before that's a given now....dangerous but beatable. I recommend a weapon removal if you want to beat them. Odd Paladin is still there and can be a pain....but not OP. Odd rogue is still rocking it...and more taunt druid than before. I played spiteful priest as well and I have to say it stands its ground perfectly now. No Quest rogue up to now.
Talk about cancer... you're playing Tempo Mage. If there's one thing I hate in Hearthstone, it's the mindless super aggro. Odd hunter/Paladin and Tempo mage are at the top of this list.
I hate these with a passionate fury. More so than I ever hated Even Paladin, though that deck was simply way too strong.
That's a needlessly aggressive reply. Suddenly I'm a bad loser because I dislike certain decks?
Get a life man.
Hmm some of the best nerfs I've seen, with just 1 mana extra for most. Still, I think for Lackey, make it a 3/3 at 6 mana, or at least a 3/2.
Sea Naga, 8 mana, kills the card, so why not make it a 6/6 or 6/7... small counter to the big increase in mana cost.
It will be interesting to see if spiteful sticks around even at 7 mana, still make it a 5/4
Well, this would nerf it even more as it would be significantly harder to get it killed. Possessed Lackey is not about stats, you know.
