The Witchwood Cards HCT Pros Are Most Excited About
Blizzard asked some of the players competing in the Hearthstone Championship Tour about which cards they are most excited about from Witchwood. Here are their answers!
Quote from Kevin HovdestadThe Witchwood is upon us, coming right alongside the commencement of a new Hearthstone Year. At this moment of great upheaval, we polled some of your favorite competitive Hearthstone players about their favorite cards from the new set. Some of their answers may surprise you!
hunterace – Glinda Crowskin
Always eager for new tools to set up combo decks, Casper “hunterace” Notto is particularly excited about Glinda Crowskin. “Imagine this with Meat Wagon and Summoning Portals,” he says. “All minions having Echo—there’s so much power there.”
RDU – Chameleos
Dima “RDU” Radu loves the hand-revealing Chameleos above all. “It’s my favorite because it brings a cool new mechanic that can provide a competitive advantage to any deck that runs it,” he says. “It offers you a lot of information, but there will also be a turn where it gives you a super good play.”
Orange – Countess Ashmore
Jon “Orange” Westberg‘s fondness for The Curator—which enabled a bonanza of card draw in the right decks—knows no bounds. As a result, he’s all-in on Countess Ashmore. “Curator was one of my favorite cards ever,” Orange says. “Countess has even more flexibility, because it can get spells or weapons as well!”
DrJikininki – Mossy Horror
An admirer of exceptional artwork, Jace “DrJikininki” Garthright chose Mossy Horror on the strength of its presentation alone. “The artwork and sounds are incredible, on top of the fact that I love his removal effect.”
Raven – Darius Crowley
Stay tuned for a deeper dive into Alexander “Raven” Baguley’s thoughts on the new Hearthstone Year. For now, Raven is content to share his thoughts on the Warrior legendary, Darius Crowley.
“You can play him quite regularly,” Raven says. “There are lots of ways to draw Rush minions, too, so he feels like a lot of fun to include in a deck.”
What’s your favorite card from The Witchwood? Are there other pros whose opinion you’d like to hear? Let us know in the comments!
@ Fluxflashor
i think i may have a few fans of hearthstone behind me on saying this:
i think it would be more interesting to see video's either taped or sent in on Pro's choices and thought's. Maybe make a mesh of 4-5mins worth of clips?
just a passing thought, would love to hear your thoughts on this!
Years of Raven, Raven on the list. Smart!
"Reporting for duty" (pick 1 for 1 mana or 2 for 2 mana).
I was definitely surprised by these choices (except for Darius Crowley).
In the end, we know which one they are gonna see the most.
strictly worse wisp is almost singlehandedly destroying ladder
It's far from strictly worse. It cost 1 more mana and 1 less card.
I'm trying to fit Mossy Horror in my decks just because he's such a unit.
For people questioning whether these guys are 'pros' or not:
Hunterace: Total earnings: $7,715.64 From 5 tournaments (https://www.esportsearnings.com/players/39487-hunterace-)
RDU: Total earnings: $143,482.89 from 50 tournaments (https://www.esportsearnings.com/players/8377-rdu-dima-radu)
Orange: Total earnings: $225,745.38 From 41 Tournaments (https://www.esportsearnings.com/players/14151-orange-jon-westberg)
DrJikininki: Total earnings: $20,153.75 From 9 Tournaments (https://www.esportsearnings.com/players/37065-drjikininki-)
Raven: Total earnings: I couldn't find anything for this, but he is known as a popular streamer and has cast at many Hearthstone tourneys.
I'm not counting their streaming earnings b/c I have no idea, but there's the hard info there regarding their tournament winnings. DrJinkininki and hunterace have much fewer earnings but with far less tournaments to show for it (that they've actually won money in, not counting tourneys they didn't make any money at), so time will tell if it's lucrative for them at all.
Personally I've heard of all these guys, but I'm sort of a stream/tourney junkie. I can understand why some haven't though, but that's no indication of their status as pros. I mean, I'm sure there's really popular world-reknown sumo champions that most of you have never heard of.
Wow they choose very interesting persons to speak about their favorite cards LUL . Ask real players omg...
the only championship i enjoyed was the first one with kripp trump and other popular hs personas.since then it was always either:dude 1 vs dude 2 or semi-known indestiguashible hs "pro" players.so yeah, not only pro stage is boring because everyone plays same decks but their also lame and boring people.downvotes pls
there you go, indistinguishable comment-person.
im quite distinguishable, most of the people on this site defend the game hardly.i dk why bcz on reddit itsnot the same...does that mean that hearthpwn serves as a trash can for its scam users?just a theory, dont let ur ass explode because of hate
Lolol.
Three of those cards were voted by this community to be in large mediocre and/or bad. Goes to show how worthless our card reveal polls are.
Hench-Clan Thug > All
"Pros. "
In this game.
Reminds me of an old phrase about how anyone with fingers and no job can be the creme de la creme of this lame ass casino.
haha well said
