Hearthstone Hotfixes for April 16 - Buggy Witchwood Card Interactions
A round of fixes have hit the Hearthstone servers focusing on some buggy card interactions with Chameleos, Voodoo Doll, Drakkari Enchanter, and Worgen Transforms.
Quote from GrizzleApr 16, 2018
- Fixed an issue where Chameleos retained the stats after copying a transforming Worgen card that would make all future cards copied maintain those stats (including Hero Cards and Weapons)
- Voodoo Doll should no longer destroy minions that have been bounced back to the hand and played again
- Fixed an issue where Voodoo Doll could destroy a hero if it targeted a Chamelos that was bounced back to hand and copied a Hero Card
- Resolved an issue where silencing a minion targeted by Voodoo Doll would visually remove the enchantment
- Drakkari Enchanter will no longer cause transforming Worgen cards to have stats of 0/0
- Resolved an issue where copies of transforming Worgen cards with different mana costs would change those costs when they transformed (Splintergraft copies, Sonya Shadowdancer copies, etc)
Toast should be on the payroll for all the bugs he works out for Blizzard. I'm a bit surprised he didn't get banned again for his work.
It was a stupid ban, to be honest.
All praise the Toast god!
These fixes are very 'Toasty'
It's the same issue, but I think it's worth pointing out both the minion interaction and the hero card interaction. It could be argued that the hero card interaction actually has two issues, one that it counts as a minion and two, that it can be destroyed as described.
And in the code it may or may not have been the same code responsible for both. In software development quite often bug fix notes are written by a project manager or game producer that is just reading the completed bug ticket and creating a list. As someone who has been a developer for more that 20 years I have first hand experience with this sort of thing.

Uh.....this was an actual thing? And I missed it!? ;_;
Yep. Toast posted a video on the various bugs of voodoo doll.
Can someone tell me Blizzard's Gulag inmate calling hours? Anyone?
Have they fixed Lunara’s hero power that’s not animated when in game? Team 5, consistent in inconsistencies LuL
Toast and hystiria showed all of this. I even know what they are talking about. But still no shudderwock animation time fix. Boo!
They are probably still testing if Shudderwock needs other kind of fix (nerf or other kind of change) other than animation time alone, so that one will take some more time.
How many Shudderwock shamans are you running into that make this a big deal? I just climbed from rank 8 to 5 and didn't run into a single one with control warrior of all things.
Fixing it is as simple as changing it from having a battlecry to "When Played," so that you can't endlessly stack Shudderwocks... Also nerfing Grumble to only work with Elementals would work to stop the hand full of Shudderwocks turn that often follows the initial Shudderwock. And they could also skip animating any cards that don't actually trigger as we don't need to see any battlecrys that do nothing at all.
I played the deck 3 times and went 3-0 and have lost to it several times when at th elower ranks. I believe that higher ranked players are just grinding with Paladin or Warlock which may be why you don't really see it above 15.
Just concede instead of sitting watching your death animation... Is it that hard?
Toast is laughing in his jail cell rn.
How about a thank you to other people who found these too.
Don't forget Hysteria.
got otked by shuttercock combo at 30 life and some armor at rank 20.
if you guys think its okay coz of 'its low win rate'. do you want to wait until people learn how to sequence the deck properly with all the proper cards before thinking its a real problem?
it has low win rate because a) not everyone has the right build b) they are not piloting it well coz they are new to the deck. i have played against enough shuttercock players with a variety of decks to know the card has to go.
