Hearthstone Hotfixes for April 16 - Buggy Witchwood Card Interactions
A round of fixes have hit the Hearthstone servers focusing on some buggy card interactions with Chameleos, Voodoo Doll, Drakkari Enchanter, and Worgen Transforms.
Quote from GrizzleApr 16, 2018
- Fixed an issue where Chameleos retained the stats after copying a transforming Worgen card that would make all future cards copied maintain those stats (including Hero Cards and Weapons)
- Voodoo Doll should no longer destroy minions that have been bounced back to the hand and played again
- Fixed an issue where Voodoo Doll could destroy a hero if it targeted a Chamelos that was bounced back to hand and copied a Hero Card
- Resolved an issue where silencing a minion targeted by Voodoo Doll would visually remove the enchantment
- Drakkari Enchanter will no longer cause transforming Worgen cards to have stats of 0/0
- Resolved an issue where copies of transforming Worgen cards with different mana costs would change those costs when they transformed (Splintergraft copies, Sonya Shadowdancer copies, etc)
cool story are u gonna fix arena?
Noticed a bug with the Deathstalker Rexxar Hero card, my opponent made a Bittertide Hydra with Lifesteal. I casted Meteor to do much damage to it. But every time it damaged the Hydra, he gained the life back... zzz...
That’s not a big dude. That works exactly like lifesteal should work.
It works as intended. Lifesteal means the damage minion deals, heals the hero for that amount. When you damage the hydra, it deals damage to the hero meaning it also lifesteals for the same amount.
heh yeah, made one of the 1/1s that pings both players combined with the lifesteal/rush beast a few days ago - gained 3 net life :)
That was prior to the lifesteal update, as in before Frozen Throne came out. Same thing with Wickerflame Burnbristle, if you played him with Auchenai Soulpriest, he would infinitely damage your hero. It's not lifesteal that's bugged, it's the coding before the keyword "lifesteal" was implemented.
And for those interested:
The way lifesteal used to work (prior to Frozen Throne's release) is that the minion would check for any interaction with the minion that caused damage to any other target. For example, Mistress of Pain would check (on every stage of a card being resolved) for damage caused by that minion. It would then attempt to apply a healing effect to your hero, as opposed to "healing" your hero. For example, if the Mistress of Pain hit the enemy face for 1 damage, instead of the Mistress of Pain healing you for 1 damage, it would be as if a "Heal 1 Health" spell was played on your hero's face. This meant that an Auchenai Soulpriest would change that healing to damage. Since the Mistress technically "played" the "spell", it would again attempt to heal you for 1 health, and the cycle would repeat.
Ahh, so since the Bittertide had life steal, the damage it dealt to the hero was actually returned in life as well after the stack, Gotcha! Thanks for the clarification.
Hysteria made a very similar video, including these interactions.
Blizzard should hire disguised Toast for game testing ! :P
They don't need to because he's doing it for free already
3 mana removal turned into 5 mana removal - cause you need to remove that voodoo doll asap.
Next is Shudderwokk and other balance changes... or ? keep it broken ?
That being said, after millions have played the game with the new expansion, I feel that it's had the least effect I've ever seen an expansion have. They : 1) improved dude pala, 2) face hunter, 3) gave shaman a broken card, and that's pretty much everything this expansion did.
People are still experimenting and will continue for at least a week - this makes decks like PalaDude and Cubelock take all the attention while other decks are silently climbing ladder.
The people who say Shudderwock is broken baffle me, because Shudderwock decks have such a low winrate compared to Warlock, Paladin, Mage, Druid and Priest.
they did fix it a bit. now if you concede midway though the animation it will just blow you up instantly.
not sure how this works on the shaman side, but in forgone conclusion states it is a QoL improvement.
I would differentiate between the card and the deck it is known for. You can say that Shudderwock OTK is not "broken" because it is nowhere near as good as people make it out to be. That still leaves the possibility that Shudderwock himself can find his way into a deck that sports a higher winrate than the OTK deck.
It costs 9 and the statline is terrible, but the effect is open-ended and so flexible, that I'm sure it will be relevant someday. It is, in a way, very similar to the Old Gods, in that you can customize the battlecry, but Shudderwock leaves much more room for experimentation. I do not mean to say the card is "broken" (aside from the animation thing), but I would be very surprised if the card would never show up again. Maybe in this expansion, maybe in the next, maybe in the second expansion next year, maybe in Wild.
Agreed, just speed up the animation like they did for C'thun before.
