Curse of Naxxramas: What We Know
It's time to recap Curse of Naxxramas, the upcoming adventure mode which is hitting this summer. We've learned of a new card this week, for Druids, called Poison Seeds!
- The adventure will add 30 new cards to the game. 29 of the normal cards will be obtained by:
- Killing Bosses (15 Cards)
- Defeating a Wing (5 Legendary Cards)
- Completing a Class Challenge (9 Class Specific Cards)
- We do not know where #30 will come from, but it is likely a reward for collecting the other 29.
- There are five wings/sections to the adventure.
- One wing will come out per week.
- The first wing and the last wing will be free.
- The last wing will unlock once the first four wings have been completed.
- Wings 2,3,4 will be purchasable for in-game currency or real money.
- Naxxramas will be a solo pve adventure.
- A new board will be available which is Naxx themed. It will be the board which is played on during the adventure.
- All the new cards will be available in the arena to all players.
- Naxxramas will feature Class Challenges, a difficult twist on the adventure mode encounters.
- You will not get to select your deck for these challenges, you must use one designed by Blizzard.
Curse of Naxxramas Bosses
It has not been confirmed which bosses will be appearing in Naxxramas, but if we take a look at World of Warcraft, it should use the same bosses that were available in the raid instance. Below is a table of confirmed (bolded) and possible bosses which will appear in the Curse of Naxxramas adventure.

Wednesday Limited Decklists
If you're a player on a budget, you might be interested in some cheap decks which can be crafted without the use of Legendaries and Epics. ManaGrind's Wednesday Night Limited event this week had quite the showing of budget Hunters.

PAX East Hearthstone Road Trip
While on the subject of things from PAX East, ManaGrind's content editior, HomeBrewed, had the pleasure of attenting PAX East 2014 and he wrote up a post on the forums summing up his experiences with Hearthstone while at the convention.
Poison Seeds looks like a Druid version of Equality!
I wonder who will be the actual Hero we play against for the Four Horsemen, and how we will see the other 3. I mean if they are all 6-9 mana legendaries played by the main Horseman, then we might not even see all of them. Really curious how they are going to make that fight work. :D
Each Horseman hero will probably have a deathrattle. After one is killed, the next one appears. Each could have 10 health. For a total of a 40 health hero.
What we also know:
- Each class will get the same amount of cards and rarity, so we have seen one common druid class card, then this will be 1 common card for every other class
- When only the wings give a Legandary cards as reward there will be no class Legendary card
- assuming both is true, then only class common cards as a reward would be very disappointing, so the Class Challange reward might be at least Rare or Epic
- since there are 15 Bosses, the Boss Reward Cards could only be neutral. Giving more neutral cards to the game makes more sense anyway
Lets do some speculation:
When every final Boss of a wing will reward a Legendary Card, then we have
Maexxna - Neutral Legendary Card 1
Loatheb - Neutral Legendary Card 2
The Four Horsemen - Baron Rivendare ? (= Neutral Legendary Card 3)
Thaddius - Neutral Legendary Card 4
Kel'Thuzad - Neutral Legendary Card 5
Nerubian Egg sounds like Arachnid Wing, so there might be:
Anub'Rehkan or Grand Widow Fearlina for the Nerubian Egg. I guess the first Boss will not drop a Rare Card, so I go for Grand Widow Fearlina dropping Nerubian Egg.
Anub'Rehkan - Neutral Common Card 1
Grand Widow Faerlina - Nerubian Egg (Neutral Rare Card 1)
Dancing Swords sound like a Military Wing card, so when the pre-final Boss would drop a Rare Card, then I go for Instructor Razuvious dropping it.
Instructor Razuvious - Dancing Swords (Neutral Common Card 2)
Gothik the Harvester - Neutral Rare Card 2
Since all confirmed Bosses are typed Bold in this article and with out procedure of Blizzard announcing Puzzle pieces, I go for Grobbulus dropping the Undertaker Card.
Patchwerk was a confirmed Boss and is the first Boss of the only wing with 4 Bosses per Wing, so he and Grobbulus will both drop Common Cards.
Patchwerk - Neutral Common Card 3
Grobbulus - Undertaker (Neutral Common Card 4)
Gluth - Rare Card 3
Which leaves us with Frostwyrm Lair, so I guess Sapphiron will Drop Shade of Naxxramas as the only neutral Epic Card.
Saphiron - Epic Card 1
Summerizing:
5 Neutral Legendary Cards - Maexxna, Loatheb, The Four Horsemen, Thaddius, Kel'Thuzad
1 Neutral Epic Card - Sapphiron
4 Neutral Rare Cards - Grand Widow Fearlina, Heigan the Unclean, Gothik the Harvester, Gluth
5 Neutral Common Cards - Anub'Rhekan, Noth the Plaguebringer, Instrucor Razuvious, Patchwerk, Grobbulus
----------------------
15 Neutral Common Cards
Posion seeds seem to be very powerful and game changing in any deck. So many things to combo with it.
I get "page not found" on each and everyone of the decks links I try. Or rather, I get moved to another type of site.
I'm getting the same thing.
sorry about that - article was formated on another site.. and for some reason the editor stripped the links to link to the other site instead of her e =/
Ben Brode did confirm 15 bosses on the Value Town stream, so that list is probably exactly what we'll be seeing. The Arachnid Quarter is apparently the first to be released.
he also specifically mentioned Gothik, so that's a confirmed boss. he named another later I think, but I don't know anything about Warcraft/WoW, and I don't see any in the potential list that sound like what I heard him say, so not sure what it was
When did they say that you can't use your own decks for class challenges? Did I miss that announcement?
I appreciate the breakdown about Naxxramas. I came to the same conclusions regarding the bosses, but it's nice to know it's not just me.
I'm curious about the AI, if it will be tougher than Expert at all, just for the bosses, or all the time. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I'm pretty sure the Expert AI is just as dumb as the Beginner AI, only with better decks. Boss AI will be equally as dumb, but more challenging due to crazy overpowered cards and hero powers. MTG has recently been doing these things called "Challenge Decks" which completely run themselves with no decisionmaking whatsoever, but they can still be quite difficult to defeat.
