Hearthstone Update for February Contains New Events, Possible Balance Changes
A new patch has been confirmed for next month which at the very least will contain some new "cool" events Ben Brode has confirmed earlier today via Twitter.
- If the team decides to make balance changes, that is the earliest any will happen.
- We wonder if this will include the arena-only cards for future usage.
Is there anything specific you'd like to see changed in a possible balance update?
Quote from Ben BrodeBeen reading discussions about balance; we have an update coming next month which includes some cool events, and that is when any balance changes would happen. We'll be sure to announce any changes as the patch gets closer. See you at the HCT World Championship next week!
My guess is Tavern Brawls, maybe some championship related quests, and at least one Arena event. Also, this is just my own personal conjecture, but they might (hopefully not) bring back the Heroic Tavern Brawl, seeing how we are slowly but steadily getting closer to the new Hearthstone year.
I honestly don't think anything needs to be nerfed, maybe a small Nerf to priest and warlock, but I don't think anything is that bad. This section sort of feels like aggro players complaining about priest and warlock and control players complaining about corridor creeper. I honestly think it would be fine to wait till the next standard rotation in a few months
* I probably should mention I abandoned standard for wild about a month before the expansion. Cubelock and raza priest are still broken there, but so is everything else. It is so much fun.
It's amazing to see how many person are complaining against raza-machinegun-priest without even thinking of teching a mindbreaker in their deck. It has decent stats for a turn 3, and if you have board control and drop that, dk anduin won't be able to deal with it that easily (single shadow word: pain, dragon potion and psychic screams, but if pressured them up a bit they've played them already).
I tend to think the cards that need nerfs are the worm, cobalt scalebane and bonemare , because they're now in all and every deck, which makes the game quite boring in the end. Someone earlier suggested to have the worm only react to you minions' death. That would be a good move in the right direction so as to make the card not an auto-include while keeping it playable.
I think it's a misunderstanding to think Bonemare and Cobalt Scalebane are a problem. Those are two top curve win-more cards that reward proactive players for sticking and dominating the board, punish midrange decks that don't focus on controlling the board enough, and get countered by heavy control decks that have enough removals and clears.
Of course there's a problem with proactive decks being too present, but it's not because of those two cards :
So even though getting finished off by Bonemare and Cobalt Scalebane leaves a bitter taste, the real problem actually comes from the too strong board presence tools that make those two top curve easily playable in the first place, combined with the extreme predation of Combo-Control decks over Heavy Control decks.
Amen
Change corridor creeper to "Costs one less for each minion that died this turn" Problem solved. That's the only issue I have right now beyond personal and likely unreasonable grievances
I don't really feel too passionate to see any one card nerfed. I just really miss my shaman and warrior brothers and sisters in arms.
Corridor Creeper problem solved.
Corridor Giant: 12 mana 8/8, same ability.
EDIT: Typo
Too late.
Now your deck have to contain x2 Corridor Creeper and if you refuse to do that will lose for who does.
It is not a stable good card, it is a must have if want a chance to win.
Cards like that should be fixed in hours after the problem become clear instead months.
They're probably waiting for the tournament to end, since deck list must be submited in advance, it would suck for players to nerf a card which is already locked in all of their decks
I really hope they'll nerf Hex to 5 mana. So tired of shamans dominating the ladder with this broken shit.
i think hex being the same cost as polymorph is fair. i honestly it's hex that is giving shaman so much success, they may want to look into other powerful shaman cards, however.
polymorph cost 4 change to 1/1 and u can easy kill it. Shaman cant kill it that easy sometimes u can win with some buff, frog have tount too.. In me opinion its balansed card if u want nerf, first polymorph need be nerfed its much better.
Predict changes Raza, Corridor Creeper, and 1 or 2 random cards from Classic set that make people go "WTF why did you do that? You just ruined the class forever".
Highly doubt they will nerf a card that will be rotating out of the format forever in just a matter of a few months. Corridor Creeper would be much more likely for a nerf candidate since it is still a freshly new card.
If I had to guess one of the cards getting changed would be Corridor Creeper It is basically the bonemare of this expansion as far as constructed goes, and just as good as bonemare was in arena, albeit less occurence
Believe or not this card is worse than Bonemare.
Some control decks don't run Bonemare but all decks are running Corridor Creeper now.
It is horrible, the games are decide for who draw Corridor Creeper first, this card need to be completely destroyed now!!!
Just remove the charge if you pull him from your deck.
And staples are fine as long as they are class cards or do something special for the class. Patches on the other hand gets played In almost every aggressive deck even without any pirate synergy(druid, zoo, even priest). There are other cards like operative, creeper and prince that are problematic too but they are more expensive and have too much synergy with patches. I'm sure they will see less play without patches.
But patches is a legendary and will rotate soon so blizzard won't nerf him just BC of greed
