We've got another round of website updates for you to enjoy. Plenty of bug fixes and some important new features thanks to your feedback. If you encounter any issues with the update, please leave a reply on this post or in our site feedback forum.
Heroes Added to the Database
- You can now view heroes on the db! Our db contains the nine playable heroes, temporary heroes, and tutorial (mission) heroes
- On hero pages, you are able to view the class cards which are exclusive to that hero
- Heroes have been added to our tooltips script. Link to them on your own site or on our forums! BBCode is under Quick Info. (Example Tooltip: Lord Jaraxxus)
Hero Powers
- Once again, check out the playable hero powers, temporary powers, and mission exclusive powers
- Fully supported by our tooltips script. Link to them on your own site or on our forums! BBCode is under Quick Info. (Example Tooltip: Life Tap)
Forge Updates
- Algorithm completely redone. The forge now behaves like it does in Hearthstone - all cards will be of the same rarity on each turn, and it now has access to all cards
- Old forge scenarios may no longer be replayed. Because of the algorithm change, the choices you were previously granted will be different. Share your new scenarios on our forge forums.
And More!
- Taunt is now available as a filterable mechanic sitewide!
- Rarity Gems have been fixed. Basic cards no longer incorrectly show common gems!
- Added indicator and filter for the mode in which a deck was created. Currently either the deckbuilder or forge.
- Additional statistics added to card pages. Check out how many times the Kobald Geomancer was picked during forge rounds!
- Changed class specific card statistics from showing the percentage in all decks
- Fixed sorting issues with decks, comments and ratings
that taunt implement really hit the spot :D
I really hope there's more than just the standard 9 basic heroes. I don't want to be force to always be Gul'dan to be a warlock.
Once the beta hits and you've gotten to play a bunch, be sure to give Blizzard that feedback! I'd personally love to see some more heroes for each class with different hero powers to give the game some more depth. I don't think it's needed though early on, later though for sure to prevent it from getting stale.
I really hope they get more heroes with different hero powers to add diversity and depth to each class as the game develops... After writing this without reading Fluxflashor's comment I realise we want the exact same thing, we even used the exact same words :D
I highly doubt they introduce new hero powers without using a completely new class. On the other hand, they can let you use other hero portraits with the same powers. Like using Lothar as an alternative to Grom.
Good stuff! Shame about the Forge not working completely yet, but I'm sure it will get sorted. Looking forward to when it does, cause I can use the practice with it before we get to beta/live.
So what you should get is:
15 "Free" cards (assume a Neutral:Class-specific ratio of 2:1)
10 "Common" cards (same ratio, I assume)
5 "Rare" cards (same ratio, I assume)
All I'm seeing are Free cards + Rare cards :(
But the rarities are okay in terms of cards showing up to one another =D
Actually, the forge should be:
15 Cards from the Basic Set (Odd picks)
15 Cards from the Expert Set (Even picks)
3 of the even picks must be rare (10th, 20th, 30th picks for ease)
The forge is meant to emulate opening three packs of new cards (the entry fee), and filling the rest of the deck with cards from the basic set.
I've spoken with our devs to get this fixed. If you can provide any information on why 5 Rare cards is guaranteed, instead of 3, I'd love to see it so I can pass it along. Thanks!
I'm absolutely sorry, Flux, I really must have been tired!
I meant to input a total of "15 Expert cards" and "3 rares" among them, but I somehow did 15-10 = 5, and Light only knows why my brain did that.
=] Disregard the comment, it actually IS 3 Rares+, as you mentioned.
No worries Noxious, glad we're all on the same page ;) Thanks for your response.
I think you need to fire your QA department. I still don't see any Expert:Common cards showing up. The even picks still seem to be using Basic:Free cards when they don't get upgraded to Rare+. Unfortunately, this means that the tool is still pretty much useless for trying to get a sense of what building a Forge deck in the real game will be like.
I've spoken with our dev team to get this fixed. Will keep everyone posted.
I've spoken with our dev team to get this fixed as not all the cards are showing up that should be which is limiting the size of the card pool. Do keep in mind though, as long as you haven't added a card twice to your deck, just because it was declined, you'll still always have a chance to have it show up. If you are seeing cards appear after you have added them to your deck twice, please link me to the forging scenario after you've saved your deck so we can look into it. Thanks!
Could you provide a citation?
Was said during the live stream, but no idea if is still the same.
Thanks, going to look into it.
